Great tourney today man, keep at it, it will only get better as it goes along. But next time get an assistant to help you run brackets, use tournamento, and/or any real bracket creator, organization is “Key”, cause you paused like 5 times in our tourney match(DQ), and I think it took john only 3 or 4 wins to make it to winners or grand finals, whereas I played like 7 times lol. Oh and shout out to CJbieber for repping that fei long, you held it down!! lol : ) xD

Jesse, good job on the tournament, but the key of a great organizer is to be organized. It’s your first one, I expect great things down the road. Also, taunting does get people salty. This is why people laugh at Jewbailey when he loses. Anyways, I’m committed making this community a better, competitive environment. No reason why a scrubby Tampa Akuma or a decent Dhalsim should be beating us. Having said that, Ranbats are back! Details are the following:

i honestly expected more from Drag me to Hell but it’s w/e. I was really upset at the ending, it was mad predictable and i wanted something better than that haha.

I loved Drag Me To Hell… few things make me happier than movies that DO NOT have happy endings (even though Ian didn’t like it). FTW. Sam Raimi is aging, but can still create an abysmally beautiful atmosphere.
Cello - never heard of it, but just IMDB’ed it… looks sweet! adds to Netflix queue
Last House On The Left (original) - Wes Craven’s debut classic. Definitely a keeper — the 2009 remake was gorier, but just didn’t pack the same punch.
Rec - been on my Netflix queue for ages (I have 250+ on there lul), I’ll bump it up the list right now.
Paranormal Activity - Eh, it was just like Blair Witch Project for me — couldn’t live up to the hype. The highlight of that movie was undoubtedly a back-row handjob.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose - haven’t seen it yet, I’m not really into that style of supernatural horror. The last good one I saw in that category was An American Haunting.
Ok… if you guys (really) wanna get your horror on, here are a few personal suggestions…
Inside - just watched this last night. Wow! Just wow. French horror which has unexpected superviolence when you least expect it. It involves a pregnant woman who is terrorized on Christmas Eve by a woman who wants her baby… badly. VERY gory. It’s French - so it’s subtitled. If you’re lazy/illiterate/overly squeamish, move along, Care Bear. The crazy stalker lady in this movie is bruuuutal.
I Spit On Your Grave - Quintessential rape-revenge movie. Released in 1978, this movie still delivers. An attractive author spends a summer at a cottage by a lake all by her lonesome and is savagely raped and brutalized by 4 local degenerates — in agonizing detail. They all get their come-uppance in beautiful, horrid fashion. In my Top 20 horror list for sure. Classic.
Salo If I had to… absolutely had to choose JUST one movie as the most depraved I’ve ever seen, this one probably takes the cake. I’ll just say that it involves coprophagia (look it up… lol)… and that the director was murdered after this movie was shot. No joke. I’ll leave it at that.
Martyrs Another harrowing French horror flick. The amount of abuse that one human being can take has just about never been more jaw-dropping. The ending is just WoW, and I don’t mean a PC game that virgins play.
Cutting Moments This is a 23 minute short, but believe me, it’ll stay with you a LOT, LOT longer. It’s actually one of 3 narratives as included on a mid-90s trilogy (all on one disc) entitled “Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America.” — there is probably less than 90 total seconds of dialogue in this short… which only increases the intensity of the maniacal finish… trust me when I say you’ll be like WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH??? And you’ll never view a semi-metallic(?) Brillo pad the same again. Ever.
Cannibal Holocaust You have a pair of titanium balls if you can sit through this entire thing without flinching, or without turning away. I did both, and I’m a seasoned horror aficionado. Shot in an Amazon jungle in the late '70s, this movie is STILL banned in certain countries (seriously). Cannibalism, gang rape, cocks getting cut off, ACTUAL animal torture (which is where I had to turn away…), forced abortion, it undoubtedly pushed the envelope for this very popular horror theme of this era (which spawned countless unwatchable knock-offs). None fuck with this granddaddy of’em all though. I almost dare you to watch this…
I could go on and on and on. If anybody here has seen any of these, props to you! If you’re a horror fan of even remote above-average fanaticism, any of the aforementioned should (temporarily) whet your appetite, and if I had to suggest to watch just one… I’d say go for Inside or Martyrs if you wanna watch something modern and disturbing, or if you want to be physically sickened, go for Salo or Cannibal Holocaust.

Drag me to hell was more comedy than horror. Not scary at all. It did have a few good laughs, but overall a C rated movie, imo. I watched Paranormal Activity, but didnt like it. Agree with Pez, on the Blair Witch feeling. I’ll have my list up in a minute. Pez, you should be streaming Netflix from your 360, if your not already doing it.
Torrin, is ranbats going to be every other Sunday? And why Sundays, might I ask? I watch football all day on Sunday, and you decide to start the same time as kickoff too. I already see after the first week I will not be able to attend.

I would really like an answer to this question as well. I know SSF4 is still the game of focus around here, but I really would like to see BBCS at ranbats to keep boosting the game and keep it relevant next to Super. I don’t think the game stands quite the risk of falling off after two tournaments like CT did, but it would still be helpful to keep boosting the game until it actually establishes itself in tournaments. It would also be nice to have a central bi-weekly gathering location to bring out people who would otherwise be limited by proximity to hosts like Tsak or Ian or Orlando in general. (Judging by Kissimmee’s talk here and on Dustloop, I’d say they could add a lot to the BBCS community around here if they had a regular, significant opportunity to face off with Orlando, which ranbats could offer them.)
If adding this second game wouldn’t make the event too cluttered, I of course would be glad to help organize BBCS so that you and whoever else could focus on organizing Super. I’m sure others would step up as well.
