Orlando Thread:CEO Returns to Rocky's 12/18

M. Bison
?** Ultra 2 combo command has been changed**, but damage upped to 450.
? Super combo has projectile invincibility.
? Heavy kick does 110 damage up close, 80 at the tip.

fuck you capcom… fuck you.

Where is the tourney taking place? What part of town? You can arrange for some off site activities which depends on what time the tourney gets over.

how does the calculation of rooms work? even if you get 250 entrants you are going to have trouble gettin 120 rooms filled in one evening due to the fact that people bunk to make cheap rooms cheaper.

Do you just have to fill out 120 rooms for the duratioin of the weekend? So if a chap were to stay sat and sunday that counts as two?

what i said 2 posts before. alex needs at least 500 tourney goers…

Yo Jebailey this might be a totally off the wall idea but depending on the size of the venue. U can have mma fights going on and big titty bitches as the ring girls.

Srly. I know the owner of a American combat club down on the east side and my fam
is cool with the cats that run The jungle.

CEO presents Street fighter: fight for Florida

lol

How’s your woman and the new baby doing?

Irvyn it’s Smack Dab in the center of International Drive at the Wyndham Resort, Idea is to get people to wanna party all weekend at the hotel not leave it lol.

Alex: if you haven’t thought about it already, you might want to contact some of the organizers of other majors and try to get a ball park figure of how many rooms were booked for their events. I’m pretty sure they could make a call to hotels they hosted them at and give you concrete information to comprise estimates with.

I’ve already been doing so but some of them besides the Season’s Beatings guys haven’t been helpful.

PS Now Tony, this is a stick I’d be willing to spend 300 bucks on lol

Smack in the middle of I-drive. I would set up a go cart race with the winners at Fun Spot, lol. But… if the goal is to stay at the hotel, then you can just keep it video game related. Start a golden-eye tourney on Wii, or even Black OPs for fun. I know I get tired of playing Street Fighter and wouldn’t mind other games. You can make it interesting, like most head shots win, and/or set handicaps.

Set up a TV to play movies.

I got it… my best idea yet. We can just move all the tables and chairs out the tourney room, and set up 1 major pillow fight. You can set it up with tourney brackets too. I can’t beat you in SSF4?? That’s fine. How about I whoop ya ass in real life with a good damn pillow?!!

double post.

are you planning on doing smash as well alex? Also i ask how the room calculations work again :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m trying to make something serious and well worth doing in Orlando Next summer and yet most of you guys give me nothing but crap and funny useless ideas. You guys have been a really great help.

you answering my questions to get a better idea of the situation so that way i can make an informed comment is sure a great help too.

I may divide a bit of space just for smash in another room so they don’t stink up our hall and I fill the place with more people. And you can read the last post I wrote about the room calculations as I explain it.

You can bet that at you are going to get people going 4 people to a room because gamers are cheap and like Edgar stated you are going to want to have 500 people at your tourney which is a bit much imho to bet 10g’s on. Another thing you may want to count on is again the fact that gamers are cheap and prolly won’t do anything outside of the tourney but go out and eat, or at least that’s what i’ve seen in my experience.

As for things that would be good to have there as extras, it would be nice to have something there for the companions of teh tourney entrants to do other than jsut stand around and watch their bf/gf/child/ect ect play games. As to what that would be /shrug.

May I ask, if you fulfill this quota, is the space that you are booking free or are they charging you on top of that?

What are the venue fees looking like? Honestly, if you can get a location that’s cheaper and just push the venue fees on us (which is what typically happens anyways), that might be a better option. Also, isn’t EVO typically a month or so after this? It might be a bit of a stretch to expect national/international participation, especially considering Florida’s lack of history for majors (or tournaments in general).

Booking rooms shouldn’t be a problem if the event is more than two days. Out-of-towners should take care of this. I have a few ideas for CEO 11:

Island of Adventures
Wing House
Wonder Works
Woodhouse Day Spa
Blue Man Group
Mall at Millenia (Blue Martini)
Howl at the Moon

I don’t know if you’re looking for something to do at CEO 11 or after hours. All of my idea are after hours. What makes a great tournament for me is what we did after the tournament.

Piss-poor attempt at sarcasm.

This is true, if anything some of the players might stay in a couple nights earlier…after all Orlando does well with it’s tourism. We should see if we can whore out our touristy stuff, they aren’t just visiting CEO 2011…They are visiting Orlando, Florida! One great thing about traveling and gaming is the culture, the food, the laughs, and the sights from what it seems. We really need to market that to it’s full potential!!!

When we think Orlando we think the same old same old…for other people Orlando goes hand in hand with Disney, Universal, Sea World etc… The more we hype it up the more people will want to come to this not just for the tournament.

Have mofos come here for a vacation and the tournament just be a part of that. That’s your best bet.
