Hello shusty, my name is Edgar. So what are the most commonly played games in the area? The last games I’ve tried/bought have been SSF4, Brawl, SC4, and GGXR. I pretty much play at a scrubby level just a hair above a button masher, but I’m hoping to get decent with SF4AE and MvC3 this time around.
Oh it’s going to happen. I’ll put you down on my list of victims, just so you wont feel left out.
We do have variety. I mostly play Super and soon enough MvC3, but at the gatherings you can play BBCS, CVS2, AH, KOF and a few others. Depending on who’s hosting and what systems are there you can pretty much play anything if you have the game.

It makes me really sad, and I’d be careful honestly. Announcing it in an open forum like this can land store-owners and dealers in a great deal of trouble, not to mention the individual I’d think.

There’s nothing illegal about purchasing a legitimate copy of the game from a store that’s broken street date for the purchaser. That’s a contractual dispute between the vendor and their supplier (and Capcom); the customer is uninvolved in it. You might not want to say on an open forum where you bought it so that the clerk who broke the rules is less likely to get his ass fired over it, but that’s another issue entirely.
As for the privateers, y’all are gonna buy the game next week anyway, right?
I have 2 copies Fully paid for, a Collector’s Edition and a Regular edition. I am just doing product research to familiarize myself with up and coming technologies for the betterment of Tournaments and events by passing on my knowledge of the hard work put into said product to the community.
PS I’m coming to some midnight release tourney to win a copy lol. Need all the copies I can get for tourneys.

noramly im agaisnt bootlegging but probally 90% of the bootleggers will buy the game. they already have CE and SE pre ordered. gotta support the devs. LOTS of work involved making a video game especially a good one
If you get a legit copy from the store, honestly, you can pretty much just say, “hey, I’m Joe Consumer, I don’t know when this game’s supposed to come out, all I know is only one store stocked it when I bought mine. Everybody else’s shipments must be late.”
Even then it would be extremely frivolous to go after people with legit copies anyway, the store on the other hand is fair game.
As for outright piracy, yeah, you absolutely can have the hammer brought down on you. But they have to find you (and be willing to prosecute) which is probably why my friends sitting on a couple grand in illegal movies books and music haven’t had shit sent their way.
