I have been out of posting recently with real life shit, but since no one came down last night i had some time to think about things and catch up on some forums

what the hell is all the bickering about? like, seriously…what the fuck…

to most of you guys i’m the newb on the scene, but i’ve know a bit about you all from ray back in the day, and i have mad amounts of respect for:

[]those who are doing, or trying to do, stuff for the scene now
[]top players who are active
[]top players who got real lives
[]good players from other scenes who want to see a more united scene in the NW

I try to make it out to gatherings when i can, but reality is, like Jetay i have a job and bills to pay. This doesn’t mean i don’t want to come out.

I respect Angel and Panda for trying to make something happen, out of love for the game. I respect Jetay, fatbear, ethan and jeremy for opening up their homes. I respect each and every one of you guys who’ve made attempts to come out to The Crow’s Nest on any of our nights, especially Jetay, Ethan and kurt for the work schedule/transportation issue, Angel, Simon, and Slash for living so damned far away, etc.

Now if you all would just have a tad more respect for each other, maybe we could move on and level up, eh?

On a side note, had some things i wanted to mention:

I’ve been not-so-secretly planing on upgrading the Arcade area of The Crow’s Nest into a full fledged double Head-to-Head unit because it seems to be the preferred method of play. I actually think a head-to-head is a waste of energy and resources, but watching one in action at Sam Y’s made me realize it could help this scene and maybe get a few more people excited and active. It’s going to cost a small fortune to do, but when done it should be able to handle just about any system thrown at it.

Interest by community:

Since Super NorCal, we’ve had 3 casual sessions where people actually showed up, of which only a few regulars came out…namely Angel and Simon once, Panda, Pascal twice, and Ian and Mackenzie a few times. i also hear some peeps aren’t so interested in coming down anymore because not all the top players come out to Crow’s Nest. We’re also pretty far out of the way for a lot of you. Well, i’m sorry if it isn’t as hype as Fatbear’s gatherings, and that we’re so far away, but fuck you. at least we’re trying here.

i wish BBH and Fatbear and Jetay could make it out to my place more often too, but life doesn’t work that way. Also, Fatbear’s gatherings are truly hard to beat as it’s so centralized.

You all tell me what i can do to make things more inviting for you guys. i don’t want to invest all this cash into making something for the scene if no one is going to bother to show up anymore.

look, I’m sorry I haven’t really made it out there lately. I guess I’ve felt a bit gamed out after a late night session at Fatbear’s on Friday and don’t really feel like another late session? I dunno. I got no beef with you and I do appreciate you hosting these sessions. I’m certainly not complaining about the distance because it takes me forever to get anywhere anyway.

With only two weeks til EVO I do need to buckle down and step up the training because shit’s gonna be crazy this year. So perhaps this Saturday after the Tilt tourney? If other people will actually go too?

I would like to come out more but the sessions that people usually come out to are Fridays and Saturdays and that sucks being a bouncer cause those are the busiest days.

This oregon scene is truly gross right now though. People here cry to much. People look too fucking much to get there hand held and be spoon fed skill. Im 100% sure for the people that are complaining about the scene and how they arent good, are NOT PUTTING IN THE WORK. I know the 1st people that are going to try to debate me are the main people not doing enough to get better. Of course they do some little shit thinking its enough, but then act confused and cry when they see the same results.

With the way the scene is. oregon folks are going to have to realize that they are gonna have to rely on THEMSELVES FIRST before the can look at this community for advancement. It is what it is. When this scene can do something together for more then a month, then you might have a resonable expectations of the community. until then,** keep you nose to the fucking grind stone, take what you can get from your community and stfu**. We actually havent had a constant place/get together place where EVERYONE went to and felt welcome at since Antoine’s Place, Few of you will actually know what im talking about there.

The **random games need to stop**, thats a huge thing there. We kinda wore that shit to death. **If it aint tournament style, we shoulnt be fucking with it.** ESPICALLY IF YOU ARE GOING TO EVO. All bull shit games and systems need to stop. People need to stop playing scared and expecting to lose to the few top players we have here. I hear so many people calling tournaments down here BBH and SamY donation funds. THATS BITCH MADE. same people that say shit are smae people that complain about the scene. If you aint got no heart, you cant just grow one. **Weak minds, breed weak ass play

but about the tournament only idea, can’t agree there. I personally need all the experience I can get, whether it be vs scrubs/random play/high lvl. Just plain wherever because ALL of that will be at evo.

2 weeks NW lvl up before evo hits.

Jetay if you are ever in need of a ride, you give me or AJ a call, we’ll come get you. And we’ll stay open after you’re off work too. I got no problems turning saturday night into sunday afternoon for peeps who want to take the time to come out.

As always, there’s crash space available too.

BBH, i wasn’t just saying you. I appreciate you coming out as much as you have actually. It’s just been literally dead lately, and it makes me wonder a bit why i’m putting up all the cash for a Head to head. luckily for me, i’ve got other ideas for the use of the equipment, so it’s no big thing really. I just want you and fatbea out more often so people feel like there’s someone to beat.

in any case, Crow’s Nest is open today IF fatbear doesn’t open dungeon. Also, Crow’s nest will be open on Saturday as always, even if no one shows up.

hey Angel and Panda, have you guys given up on this? or are you just waiting for someone to start challenging?
i still say this was/is a good idea, even if it doesn’t involve every player and thus wont be able to rank Portland as a whole, its still fun.

every gathering should have at least a pay to play tournament your points should be the money you win he with the most money wins at the end of the season
