Anyone tech savvy enough (fatbear?) to host a ladder manager?
This one here seems pretty mature and even calculates ELO rankings.
More matches would be legit. Hopefully the majorty of the scene joins that way most peeps wont care if the matches are longer. Top 5 spots are 3 out of 5 games. Everything else is 2 out of 3 games. Ill be challenging Panda and\or Ethan depending who I see first. You guys better hide lol.

I am trying to get you to see a bigger vision, sure, but ultimately i’m still trying to just get you to work WITH me instead of against me. This thing that Hein showed up is a lot more with what i’d go with for a Ladder, if i wanted to go that route at all. Primarily, it’ll make scheduling matches easier from a host perspective as well from the ladder organization/administration perspective.
And this sort of thing is what i wanted to incorporate as a sister/sub section to the stuff i’m already doing. Just take a look at it, if you would good sir.
I’ve been trying to get Angel to work with me on something like this. I’ve gotten a lot of resistance. My buddy and i are working on obtaining a dedicated server for all this ranking stuff, including a slightly different league-style system. I’ll look at this later tonight and see if it’s viable.

A BlazBlue forum I was a part of had a very similar ladder. I kind of like it, but it’s more useful for online games. But whatever. I’m sure we’ll talk about everything Friday in person, making assumptions of our locations Friday.
Thanks for looking at it panda! it’s a little rough around the edges but it looks like it can be easily adapted to other ways. I think this would make it REALLY easy to schedule things…

Good to see challenges happening. 
I’ll post up a quick update tomorrow morning in case any more changes happen tonight, including an amendment to how adding your name to the ladder works.
Yangsing should be tied for 17th with the others that added their name to the ladder after the tournament in the posts above btw, but that will be reflected in the official ladder list.
Thanks to Amurderofcrows for basically running the challenges last night. Also really nice to see new people joining. When I told Panda and PDX Jive to hide from me I didnt think they would actually do it lol. I officially challenge Panda for his spot. You got 1 week sucka.
Also we should decide on a better name for this thread. It doesnt seem HYPE at all. These are some of my suggestions but it would be cool if other peeps threw some out there as well. PDX SSF4 RANKINGS, PDX TOP PLAYERS, SSF4 TOP RANKING OREGON PLAYERS. You get the idea. Im sure some of you have some good names as well so lets hear em.

Wasn’t me that was chillin’ at Fatbears, not sure who you were thinking of. Played hella games that night, and had some hype matches for sure. Reno was ready to roll out at a certain point, I kept promising half an hour more, for about 2 hours lol. Definitely got the good match ups in, most I’ve played with a large group of peeps since the last +14 person turn out at our house. The Jive/Panda match ups were on Thursday night, which was also a blast. Tell Jannon he is also welcome back anytime, that guy’s a riot.
Anyway, was walking out of a meeting today, and this caught my eye.

Sup guys. Long time no post. I’m living it up in Portland now, didn’t have internet for a couple weeks. It’ll probably be a couple of weeks before I start attending SSF4 events again, but I’m planning on entering the ladder at that time.
I’m halfway joking when I suggest this, and since I’ve been out of the loop, you guys probably have the ladder system set in stone, but what about using a system kind of like the Afro Samurai show? Anybody could fight for any place within +/- 5 spots in the ladder except for the 1st spot. You had to be in the 2nd spot to challenge number 1. That way you can’t just jump from 5th place to 1st, you have to get to 2nd place before challenging 1st. Kind of makes the person at the top more important and the 1st against 2nd battles more epic.
Oh, and there were headbands with numbers on them from the show that would be hilarious to have. IMMA GET ALL THEM HEADBANDS.
Feel free to tell me if this idea is totally lame, but it’d be cool to have like a trophy for 1st place or something that gets passed around.
It’s pretty weeaboo… but I like it. It would be interesting in application but isn’t particularly in line with the straightforward implementation that Panda and Angel have been going for, imo.
Will be adding you on XBL for matches once I renew my Gold. You still running Blanka in Super or have you switched up?
Yeah I figured it was kind of hokey, but thought it might add something fun to the whole ladder system.
Played Sim for a long time in vanilla, switched back to Blanka in super. I feel SF4 was boring and not a lot of character variety, but SSF4 has so much more variety that it’s hard to pick a main now.
I’m juggling between Blanka, Sim and Gouken. Rose looks like a ton of fun with her new ultra too.
^Lmao really? Lol well prolly bump up the # of ranks to challenge from 4 to 5 once the ladder has more participants. I also have been thinking of refining the way the top place challenges take place. Not sure what the best way to go about it is yet, but I like your suggestions. Some sort of trophy or prize for first place to pass around sounds legit.
