Oregon Roster & Discussion (info on the 1st page)

Well yeah, I was saying Backspace might be a better venue, they have tooooooooooons of room over there that could be potentially used, since the place is a large cafe, and not an arcade. And they’re still in the exact same central location for the region. Could easily run as many setups as we can get equipment for (I think they run PC gaming stuff there, so they may have equipment on site as well?). I do love Art and GK, but yeah, it’s just a space issue if we make this any bigger.

We are working on finding a public/centralized space to hold casuals since we haven’t had anywhere public to play since Versus. Just hang tight. Once we get it going then we can try another ranking system. I rather just focus on making the tournaments better than a ranking system right now though.

can you sign my te ronnicle

I think I can fit you into my schedule.

Yeah I don’t really care about that stuff, just remember people making a fuss about it before, and it seemed like a logical thing to do since we have regular tournies now. A local casual space would be awesome, I really wanna be able to play more offline.

So are you guys wanting to have the events in P-town? I understand that the most population of Oregon is there but maybe you should look at Salem. It is in between the two largest Metro-centers of the Willamette Valley and all of the highways from E. Oregon and Idaho feed into I-5. Also Salem blows so getting a venue would probably be a lot easier, but this all hinges that there is no venue big enough in P-town.

lol there is no way Portland players are gonna drive to Salem on a regular basis. Portand is already far enough for the Woodland crew as it is.

Yeah I wouldn’t know, but it seems like trying to get a Venue in Portland just isn’t happening. I wish I had a better idea, I live in Eugene so I don’t have much knowledge of Portland. Oh well.

Did you just refer to yourself as a crew???

Where my buttons Travis?

Hello Oregonians, my name is Ian and I just moved to Gold Hill, Oregon with my best friend. We both have plans to move out to Portland after a semester or so. So in the meanwhile if there is anyone who lives near Gold/Grants Pass/Medford that would like to have some casuals, I’d be interested. We are also visiting Portland this weekend and I was curious if I head out to an arcade like Ground Kontrol or Tilt if i can find people playing. I would love to get in some 3s or ST matches. Or would my best bet be to head out to one of those public gaming locations?
-thanks

I read a very interesting article here at Hype Building 101: The Venue . When you get a chance read it and post your comments. I definitely miss the old days of Versus when we had a public venue to play at and new players came all the time. What you guys think?

I miss Wonderland I wish it would come back. I like the article there G_Effect pretty sweet.

What is a mad catz Tournament Edition S?
I saw one and didn’t recognize what it was… Technology these days, what will they think of next?!

Hey I am staying with Ethan, and after the Ground Kontrol Tournament (was fun by the way) I’d like to hook up with the PDX crew for a bit for some casuals. Just wondering if people are hosting at all

Cheers

If I get the OK from Art, Ima be hosting casuals at GK on Wednesday night this week.

Ethan and I will be there for sure!!!
