Borderlands Games holds video game tournaments from time to time. I think they’ve had a SF4 tourney and a couple BlazBlue tournaments so far. Knowing the owner, he’d probably be in far more support of more tournies + whatnot (hell, even game nights?) as long as there was genuine interest and enough folks attending.
If you guys want, I can meybe have a word with him on the topic. Just would need to know what kind of numbers we could expect, how often people wanted, etc.

Well, you know i’m by no means a stranger to fighters. Just haven’t quite felt like posting here. Mostly figured the majority of interest in this thread would be about SF4. =P That said though, if I can help coordinate a fighter night (something i’ve wanted to do for quite some time) then there is a higher purpose I need to serve here. =P
Yeah. That back room they have would be way too perfect for a fighter meeting, especially when you consider that nice TV they already have set up. I figure we could just contribute a couple more TVs from individuals, set up a couple PS3s and/or 360s, and we’d easily be set. I imagine that for the most part I’d be willing to bring at least my 360 a few times.
The big thing being, I’d need to negotiate with Issac (owner-esque dood) to see if he’d be up for it. I know he’s always up for community type activities, but he’d probably want a fair amount of people before he could justify giving us a night every so often. That said though, these kind of events always bring in customers if nothing else. I’d like to imagine he’d be up for it.
Again, just lemme know how many folks would actually be interested in this and how many bodies we can get dedicated to showing up! Gimme numbers to work with folks.
Borderlands is like 10 minutes away from my house. I’d be down for a fight night. I could also bring my own xbox but I doubt anyone would want to play on my TV, it’s very old and bulky.
Yeah, another advantage of getting Borderlands to supply us a night every other week or so is that we could probably gather a lot of interest from random passerbys. I imagine that a lot of folks pass through there who would like fighters, but never have anyone to play with. If nothing else, it’s quite possible Salem’s fighter scene/group could grow from such an activity.
I figure Friday or Saturday I’ll head be in the neighborhood anyway and head down there to pitch the idea. I’d go today, but heading in the general direction of that damnable Marion St. bridge is not my idea of fun after work today.
i already went into borderlands today and had no luck with the random employee at the counter.
kid didnt really seem like he cared and kinda brushed me off.
but if one of you guys actually knows and can get an audience with the owner or manager then you can pitch the idea.
as far as how often we would be going id like it to be every week? every other week would be good as well.
if we have to rent we could just split the bill evenly between us, wouldnt be that steep in the first place and itd only be a couple bucks from each of us im sure.
as far as people go, there is the five of us on here and 3 guys i know that dont post on here that are legit.
also, im checking into some other things just in case this doesnt work out.
its always good to have your options.
as far as time goes for these meetings, 2/3 hours and taking place as late as possible. everyone usually has shit going on in the day time, just think itd be easier if it was a little later on in the day.
I have a computer moniter lying around and was wondering how i could hook my 360 up to it, or if its even possible? its pretty new i just dont have a need for it sense my desktop broke a year ago and bought a laptop. It has a DVI in and a RGB in if that helps.
