Basics:
:f::h:~:l:
Press L exactly one frame after H (plink). Feel free to swap out L for M.
This will attempt a throw, and if it doesn’t connect then the resulting heavy attack gets kara-cancelled into a dash.
This works with any horizontal or angled dash either on the ground or in the air.
It also allows you to input a throw tech without sticking out a heavy move.
Variations:
:f::h:~:s:
Throw OS 2-button Special (e.g. Lariat).
:f::h:~:l:,:atk:
Throw OS Dash Normal.
:f::h:~:l::uf::h:
Throw OS Airthrow. Absolutely disgusting
If you have an air command grab, you can try inputting that really fast instead.
:f::h:~:l::dp::atk:
:f::h:~:l::qcb::atk:
Throw OS Anti-air special (Good examples; She-Hulk Hyper, Haggar H Hoodlum, Skrull anti-air grab)
OS dash gives far better positioning than just doing the throw and cancelling the normal.
Use a backdash in the corner so they can’t jump over you.
Throw techs can screw you over.
Air: (Hold :f:):h:~:l:,:h:
Double airthrow. Works in any horizontal or diagonal direction.
Flight: (Hold :f:):h:~:l:,:h:~:l:, repeat
Flight mode wavedash throwing. Works in any horizontal or diagonal direction.
Air: (:f::h:~:l:), :f::h: … :hcb::atk:
Triple air throw with Thor (Throw OS Airdash Throw OS Command Grab)
The latter part works as a double airthrow with Haggar (useful since he lacks an airdash).
The command grab must be delayed very slightly.
does skrulls anti-air elastic slam require the opponent to be a certain distance away? because if not throw-dash-command throw canceling in the corner just got badass
I think it’s the capcom standard ‘any direction but Up’. I know down works for air throws quite well; I do it on accident all of the time after X-23’s air claw move when I try to :d:+:h: after flying across the screen.
just plink dash towrds your opponent starting with H. throws in this game startup in one frame so if you were capable of throwing them they will get thrown, and if not you will just get a dash. if your character can cancel there dash quick into an attack… like wolvie, you can use that as an option select… ie dash cancel L. if your throw had have connected though, your dash cancel L wont come out, so nothing lost.
air throws in reset siituations can be osd like this as well.
-edit… now that i actually read the first post, sprint has some really good uses for this! GOOD STUFF! especially like the throw os airthrow.
Yeah, this is something that’s been known for a while so I don’t expect any credit.
I’ve seen it mentioned here and there on character specific forums etc., but I didn’t see anything on the main forum, and I think this is something that should be common knowledge, so I just thought ‘sod it’ and posted.
How to practice it:
Turn on input display, stand away from the opponent and hit :f::h:~:l:, pressing L exactly 1 frame later.
If timed properly then you’ll get a dash with the input display showing H pressed before L.
This means that the opponent would have been thrown if they were in range.
If H and L are shown as pressed together, you pressed L too early.
If H and L are shown separately but you don’t get a dash, you pressed L too late.
(and again, use M instead of L if you want. It doesn’t make much of a difference)
