I can’t say I agree there. I rarely get decent pings and when I do, they’re usually always good. There’s a handful of 3 pings that turned out to be laggy frauds and I can really notice the difference in a 0 ping matchup. I’ve felt like I was playing with dumbells on in those matchups.
You must have been unfortunate to have 0 pings actually mean 0. 0 ping is comes up as an undetermined connection on my end. Blazblue suffered from this same problem so I’m familiar with it. Guys I know I can get 3 ping with often shows as 0 ping when we play matches together.
on the one hand this would be desirable, on the other I can see how much less players would play each other since they would blame the ping, be afraid of the number because they don’t understand them. I mean a ping of 40 when my cs-leet pings are only 13 to my server! come on - that’s unplayable.
Last night a guy quit on my after I beat him in round one. I sent him a mocking email for quitting, but he said his connection got dropped. I had another instance where a person dropped out after I won two rounds - I didn’t get the points.
So my question is if you people are getting dropped at rounds end or if these people are just sore losers.
of course something like a reconnect or drop out might occur in very rare occasions (depending on the users internet connection and circumstances etc) but that shouldn’t happen often.
I’ve actually been having connection drops, but I think it’s because of my own internet. (AT&T.) Usually, I’ll be in a match, winning or losing and the screen will just freeze and say either the room has been disbanded or the host disconnected in ranked. (When it’s really me.) Then, I’ll be signed out of PSN a few minutes after.
I had to express apologies a few times before when my connection would drop like that, as this yukiko player handed me my ass and was literally in the last combo setup to a win and my connection just froze and dropped on them.
that’s simply not possible. “no issues” is a broad term and it’s possible that you don’t feel lag due to how the game plays, but it can’t be anything like it’s decent in comparison. otherwise IT’S MAGIC.
The first option when doing custom ranked (I forgot what the option is called), you can set it to return search results. The search results will show the network connection quality and you can select who to challenge.
Glad someone posted this sorry I couldnt be more descriptive with my earlier reply. This is the only way I do netplay unless Im inviting someone from my friendslist.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but how quickly is everyone progressing between matches? Unless I’m playing my friend the next state over, the time between matches is unbearable. Searching for ranked sometimes takes a while, but that’s not too big of a deal. However, sitting at the stats screen after the match is over takes forever.
I honestly feel like I’m spending literally as much time waiting as playing. Is my connection just bad? I can wire in, I just haven’t gotten around to it after moving my playstation. The waiting between matches was enough to make me quit playing tonight in disgust.
I just started playing online a few nights ago and have had little to no issue as far as player matches go. I usually play late at night, and it sometimes takes a while to find ranked matches, but player matches have been smooth as butter. There have been a few rounds where I got scared because the intros would lag, but it would settle shortly after the round actually began.
Yeah, I changed back over to wired and the difference is literally night and day as far as load time before and after matches. I still think the connection rank sucks though. I"m on 20 mbps down and like 4 up and I get vast majority 0’s, which bars me from a lot of player matches.
