Pretty much how I feel about it all. It’s practically softcore porn and to some, it’s a fetish. Guess what some of the modders over in one of the main SFV modding threads are discussing? How to make tits bigger, jiggle more, and remove clothing. Surprise. Yes it’s inevitable, but I underestimated how many people would make new accounts just to ask how to make breasts jiggle more. It’s sad and embarrassing in it’s own way because you can’t deny the fact that the main audience for some of these alt costumes are lonely/horny/desperate teenagers. The modding thread for MGSV on the Xentax forums was borderline sad to browse. People put in a lot of time and effort just to get the fishnets off Quiet.
The female aesthetics don’t offend me, but they’re simply just boring. I understand they’re adamant about retaining the original character designs, and I can respect that, but there’s nothing visually impressive or appealing about the characters of SFV. With that being said, it won’t be long before the game starts to look technically outdated. So glad stage modding on PC is simple; the background npc’s in Lair of the Four Kings are absolutely atrocious and way too random, so I did away with them.
When the fuck has Birdie ever been a serious character and not a complete fucking joke. SF1 and thats about it. His whole appearence in the alpha series revolves around hims being a fucking loser, cant even get Shadowloo to look at the fucker hes such a fuck up.

Twelve is kinda an exaggeration and an extrapolation IMO. He’s like a Putty Patroller and could easily fit in Darkstalkers instead of Street Fighter. He’s just as terrible as Seth. If he was less ‘powerful’ I would dig him. But a guy, a thing, that actually can transform his own body in pretty much anything, anything, seems a bit overdone in relation to a guy that can only stretch his arms and breath fire.

A LOT of fighters in the game actually DON’T USE martial arts, fighting or any ‘proper’ outfit. I mean, we should pay, at least, attention to the NAME of the game lol. They are STREET fighters, right? They can wear anything they want.
The women in your photo has literally twice as much clothing on as the Laura alt costume. You can’t even see her underboob or G-string.
Find a shot of a stripper and maybe you’ll come close.
Necro has personality and is a really fun colorful character. Personally I love his design, its actually my favorite in the entire series. And hes always been my favorite character to play as in SF3. I guess I just gravitate towards the weirder characters. For example my other faves are dhalsim, oro, q, and guile and Alex. In 5 I only like Birdie and Dhalsim, and the only new character in all of sf4 I thought was a good design was Hakan.

Street Fighter III really was an interesting duck. In Street Fighter II character design was mostly based around exaggerated ethnic stereotypes from around the world. The Indian yogi, the Russian bear wrestler, the Spanish matador, an America boxer. Honestly taken as one character in a game some of them would be kinda offensive, but given that they applied those exaggerated stereotypes to all ethnicities it created more of a goofy World Fighting Championship style that I’ve always found rather endearing. SFIII had a few characters like that (Elena, Ibuki) but it had by far the biggest ratio of just plain oddballs that didn’t fit into the classic SF mold. Some of the funky characters I loved (Oro, Q) while others were misses for me (Remy, Hugo).
Since then in SFIV and in V so far Capcom seems to have gone with more of a ratio between the two. You’ve got your SFII national stereotypes (El Fuerte, Hakan, Laura, Rashid) and your more oddball SFIII characters (C. Viper, Juri, F.A.N.G., Necalli).
Personally with Laura I think that her design actually works well given her place in classic SFII national stereotype style. From my experience (just visiting, not a Brazilian resident) Laura is more sexualized than you would usually see out and about, but she does represent the style of dress and attitude that Capcom was looking to dramatize taken to an extreme. Seems to fit in pretty well with characters like Zangief, Balrog and T. Hawk.
That being said, I would have to say that while Laura does work when looked at individually SFV is pretty high in the T&A ratio with the ladies so far. With Laura and Mika as two characters either being introduced or coming back from older versions and with Cammy in the mix there is not a lot of clothing between the three of them. Not a big deal, but I guess that I am hoping to see a few more outfits and characters that are less blatant fanservice in future updates. Or at least a more classy style of fanservice.

The only one I’ve seen with Bonita! Is wearing considerably more and doesn’t have half the bust or ass. Laura was designed from the ground up for teens to Jack off too. Everything about her outfit, proportions, stripper dance at the start of every fight, every move, and just about every camera angle is meant to provide wank material. Mika isn’t much better.

My favorite design by far is 3rd Strike (Street Fighter III). It was so visually impressive to me at the time. Very cool.
IV was a bit comical and goofy, but I think SFV is somewhat a mix of art styles. Possibly to help with hard-reads better.
