Who said that was a tease for the new game? Ono simply said there was a tease for AN announcement he was going to make at Comic Con (he’s making more than 2 announcements), and besides that was never proven to be the hint people just assumed.
But likely that’s just the trailer for new characters. If he’s announcing a new game he likely wasn’t allowed to actually hint at it at the time.
he also said he had several announcements. Presumably they aren’t all new fighting games.
He can have more than one announcement though.
The only way I can see it not make sense is because it’s kinda being tacked on ATM with the Arcade release of SSF4. Even though the consoles will get them later down the road. I mean honestly new characters for SSF4 isn’t really a “big announcement” or at least not as big as Ono’s making this surprise be. But I guess that’s where the extra clout of more than 1 thing being announced comes in.

Ono has more than 3 announcements. Those that are Street Fighter related will be seen tommorrow. We will have to wait until Sunday to get the recently approved game.
In that pic with Ryu in a head band it also has 3 other things. A PS3 controller, a 360 controller and a KEYBOARD!
I’m hoping out for SSFIV PC release as one of the announcements.

Ono himself is only at one pannel, yes, however the game he had approved recently will be shown at a later conference by the guy who approves those things, just like SF4.
I don’t think the keyboard has anything to do with the “teaser image.” I mean…it’s his computer. One of the things you see is his desktop wallpaper.
None of it will matter if it isn’t gameplay footage, though. If it just so happens to be Darkstalkers, I’d be depressed if it was a minute long clip of FMV.

It’s hilarious that everyone says 4th Strike. There was no 1st or 2nd Strike. That leads me to believe that Ono is announcing:
