Pokemon is more successful than Persona and Shin Megami Tensei COMBINED, and Pokemon mainline devs sure grew up and are aware and respectful of both genders equally overall. Game Freak is superior to Atlus and Game Freak is the only one out of the two, in touch with the reality of female protagonist preference, girl gamers, and how it’s COMMON SENSE they would profit more making it standard to let the player choose the protagonist’s sex (and Game Freak even goes further with extra skin tone, appearance and fashion options)
