Is it just me, or do they ALL go and pick Honda/Blanka after you beat their main a few times? Predictably, they always seem to go for the Headbutt/HHS loop with Honda or the j.short/throw loop with Blanka. :lame:
Yep, I have had very similar experience. Best suggestion is to learn to deal with it. Most of them are too stupid to reversal with either character, so I suggest going for crazy crossup shenanigans.
I don’t play honda or blanka but, what if those two characters are their main? and they’re just using their first guy because they’re practicing
I very much doubt 75-80% of the online crowd mains Honda/Blanka. My gut feeling is that it’s easy to play underhanded with those 2 – compared to the rest of the cast they can be somewhat dangerous even if the person behind them doesnt know exactly what they are doing.
In any case main Balrog (boxer) these days so Blanka is often a free win and Honda is usually not all that hard. A good Zangief, T.Hawk or Bison (dictator) strikes the fear of god into me tho.

They get body splashed into a SPD anyway. Then I’m like ‘what, what?’
Then they turtle to shit with electricity/THS which I have a trouble dealing with.
Why complain about it? Just beat them, and make them up their game. If you can’t beat it, then they’re playing the game right, using tactics to beat you that you’re unable to counter.
Like I said, Blanka is a free win and Honda is usually not that hard. Fighting a billion of them doing the same 2 things does get really old, really quickly. Unforunately, player match seems to be utterly broken for me on PSN (disconnect every time) so I’m sort of forced to use quick match.
I main Guile and I would say about 90% of players are shotos so I do pretty well. However this makes it kind of tough when i come up with someone who is good with a “rarer” character like dhalsim or fei as I haven’t managed to learn the match-ups yet.
If you’re getting free wins, why are you complaining? Just use Quickmatch, and if you are as good as you say you are, you’ll be fighting quality competition who can play Blanka or Honda well and it won’t be so easy for you. Don’t use player match or custom search, or you’ll just prove you’re king of the scrubs.
i have also seen a lot of average shoto’s switch to honda/blanka after losing a few consecutive matches (especially when i play blanka).
i can only assume they think they are “cheap” characters & are looking for payback, as most of the time these players don’t know piss for strategy. once you crack their very limited knowledge its an easy W… followed by a disconnect. almost guaranteed.
and re: Gief v. elec, just knee drop. scrub blanka’s will go ballistic when you punish it clean. good times.
Actually, from my understanding most of the scrubs are in quick match with the SRK crew mostly playing in the 4-6 player rooms. Either that or I have it totally ass-backwards :rolleyes:
You do have it ass-backwards. If you want to meet strangers who are good, player match is not where you want to look. If you want to play only your SRK friends all day, player match is fine, but there are plenty of good players who don’t post on this website, and they’re not playing player match.

I usually just do Friendly -> Quickmatch, and if i play people who aren’t really good, they eventually leave after the first few games. When I’m bored and tired of that I go into Scoreboard -> Quickmatch so I can get a variety of players instead of the same guy over and over again. I think that is more fun, and I don’t care much about my rank/rating anyhow.
yes most scrubs pick the characters they think are easy(aka characters with mashing specials). It’s been this way since 1991. nothing new here.
