Release a cheap KI arcade port on XBL/PSN.See if theres any interest and go from there.
This is why I don’t think there’s one in development, they probably would have already done this if they planned on it any time soon…Unless it’s going to be Kinect style and shit.
Here’s Ed Boon’s thoughts on KI:

A word of warning: Don’t try getting any KI info from Rares Twitter because they really like trolling people >_>
M$ owns Rare. We’ll never see KI on PSN
lol, what a scrub
Given how the SNES and N64 ports were gimped, arcade perfect ports of KI and KI2 on Xbox Live Arcade sounds too braindead obvious. I bet that publishing rights for those two games are still tied up with Nintendo.
I would pay $30 if Rare released Conker’s Bad Fur Day with online multiplayer.
Killer Instinct just seems mash-happy to me. I still like Glacius, Fulgore & Spinal though.
Nintendo has publishing for the ports. Midway published the arcade versions. Rare shouldn’t have a problem publishing those
Depends what happened when Midway went belly up? And it’s possible Nintendo has some rights. The game itself refers to the “Nintendo Ultra 64” right in the attract mode.
Nevertheless, even if KI and KI2 are both off limits, somebody at Rare has to be eyeing a KI3 as we speak. They’d have to be a bunch of Raymond Babbitts not to. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft wants to use KI as a springboard for Kinect but who knows how successful that would be. Both as a fighting game and as a Kinect seller.
Can’t say I’d be happy about not getting a “legitimate” KI3 but a Kinect fighting game would certainly make for an interesting experiment.
A Kinect fighting game exists. It’s called Fighters Uncaged and it’s sucks donkey balls
They did release Conker’s Bad Fur Day with online multiplayer.
In all seriousness…Microsoft could easily grap one of the popular characters from the KI series and have them as their exclusive character for the 360 version of MK. I’m sure Boon wouldn’t mind doing that especially after seeing those tweets. It’s so god damn easy.
They released Conker: Live & Reloaded with online multiplayer, but it had completely different multiplayer (it sucked :shake:). Everything from the gameplay, the class-based system, modes, stages, characters, weapons, etc. all were different. I still play the n64 version every now and then with my siblings/friends.
