Online Lag in Tekken 7 PC

So I recently purchased what I consider to be a decent Sager gaming laptop. i7-770 CPU, 8GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB Vid RAM, SSD drive. Anyway since I’ve been trying Tekken online on it, it’s been really laggy. I just finished two matches that I left the set early because it was so laggy. I immediately did a speed test and I’m getting 175.6 down and 31.8 up so I don’t think that’s an issue. I’m hardwired into the my switch as well btw. What could be the issue? The game reported the connection as 5 bars.

Edit: Fixed the video issue. It was Vysync.

@jopamo You seem to be pretty well versed on all things gaming/tech related so feel free to chime in. Thanks.

It hasn’t been that way up until recently, right? The specs of your machine and network throughout seems more than enough to play Tekken 7 without issue. Some questions off the top of my head:
-Which OS are you running?
-What resolution are you playing at?
-have you updated Windows and Nvidia GPU drivers recently?
-what’s the ping on those network tests?

@jopamo Damn you’re fast. it was Vsyc with the video issue after all. This is my first time playing it online on this machine, btw.

I’m running Windows 10 Home Edition
Playing at 1080 Ultra
Definitely updated the Nvidia drivers. I’ll go and do Windows Update now.
The ping from speedtest.net is 14ms

Lemme try some online matches. Maybe the “lag” I was perceiving was just from the issue with the video that I seem to have fixed by actually leaving Vsync ON. I’ll try some more games after the Tekken tourney and report back. I was thinking I’d turned Vsync on on this laptop before but it was on my older desktop that I’d tried that. If that is the issue, my bad for wasting the thread space. Thanks for responding so fast anyway,

Also if you can always do a wired internet connection with your PC to your router, avoid using Wifi when possible.
