Unmapping buttons already exists. It’s been pointed out numerous times. Press select.
Also, i was messing around today in training mode with the 3p macro doing ex tourou with Yang. Roughly every 20 or so times ex wouldnt come out. Don’t know if its the same with ps2 but thought it was weird.
can the dropped ex inputs be related to the timing being slightly off? I know when I go crouching short into Makoto’s EX overhead thing, if I time it wrong it comes out as a normal overhead. more noticeable online for me personally. will the game output a normal special instead of an ex special if the timing is weird, even if you time the button presses simultaneously?
yep i agree that a lot of the “nice to have” things should really be fixed, and i’d already let him know that. the “must have” category just provides a baseline of what the patch should include, and doesn’t mean that we only care about those things, because it’s just a minimum bar.
those two things in particular you mentioned should’ve been under “must have”, i just missed them (there’s a shit ton of shit). i’ve updated him via email.
Yea. Lots of stuff to be fixed… I pray that the most important stuff gets addressed. I remember when the first patch came out one of the things they fixed was Hugo’s trial lol.
Online drops a ton of inputs. I’m talking about offline using the 3p macro and ex moves still drop. It’s strange.
Honestly the majority of the focus should be on the online(matchmaking) of the game in my opinion. Anything else is just extra for me, its annoying that arguably the best 2d fighter of all time has such shitty online especially on PSN. They seem to be listening well to community feedback though so I have faith they’ll focus on what the fans want, guess we’ll see coming friday.
The biggest things for me is fixing EX inputs dropping, re-size the super bar correctly, and fix any sound and color glitches offline. Otherwise the game plays the same as I’ve experienced it.
It would be nice if the game lived up to it’s name and was actually playable online as opposed to feeling like 3S Mugen.

Yeah we’ve seen that complaint a lot but can’t really find a way to repro it. I’m not saying you guys are wrong, we just can’t seem to get it to happen yet. If you have any additional details (happens more when cancelling out of a move, certain characters are more prone it, etc.) that would be super helpful. We plan on investigating further, but right now don’t have great lead on that one.
I definitely have no problem with EX on 360, so i can understand how hard it is to fix something that random.

must be some weird sequence of processes that need to take place for it to be something so ‘random’.

as for the dropped EX inputs: ryan, it looks like you have something a little reproducible, right? every 20 slashes with yang, the EX gets dropped? there could be something there. how are you doing it? maybe we can try it ourselves, too…
just saw this post. if you’re using the 3p macro, there’s definitely something wrong as all 3 buttons should’ve been captured at the same, slightly-off time. otherwise, it’s possible one of your fingers had the button pressed longer/shorter and just slid into the input-capture window (or whatever it’s called), while the other fingers didn’t.
