You are kidding right? The fact you bar flashes when you have enough meter stocked is not enough of a sign?
I Just assume half a bar and if I’m lucky a third. Quit yer bitchin’.
It’s fortunate we have sites with technical information on the game, but I think including this stuff to make an extensive training mode in fighting games should be the standard by now. VF5 even goes as far as to show your startup, active frames and would-be frame advantage in the attack data after an attack connects. It’s just good to have access to that stuff then and there while you’re practicing so you can learn and mold your gameplan faster/more efficiently. Even live hitboxes are active long enough for you to see where they are on-screen and how they might interact with what the opponent is doing.
So yeah, they already have the dummy recording feature down and save states as useful tools. I’m down with hitboxes (maybe aided with a clean pause + frame skip feature so people could see them in more detail if they need to), input display, and frame advantage added to the attack data amongst other things that could be added to make a better training mode.
It’s enough of a sign to let me know I can do EX specials in the first place, but that has nothing to do with letting me know **how much more meter I need **to do an EX special. You can’t deny that having the bar segmented would help with this.
segmented bar would look out of place given that 3S has variable meter length.
oh yeah, forgot an obvious online-related one. make it so that people can’t drop after the KO lol. people ragequitting at the winner’s character’s winpose is so bad. right at the KO or whenever GGPO netcode is able to understand that there’s a legit KO is when the match should end.
Part of one’s strategy is to recognize how much meter you can build and when you can activate EX or SA. All I can say to this is experience. As you grow more comfortable with the game and the character you become better equipped to deal with how much meter you have available, how much you can spare, and whether or not hit confirming with less then a bar is appropriate.
Since SA bars do vary in length and ever EX meter gained is dependent on special, I don’t see why this is really a valid change or improves on what is already given to us. Get used to your character, get used to the match-ups and research on how long it takes to build meter and I bet you anything you won’t even question how EX is displayed.
While I don’t find the necessity for it and agree that experience can help you get a handle on how much meter you’ll need to do an EX, a number showing the amount of meter built would solve his problem since EX costs the same for every character.
Well, the meters are already wrong in length, plus as you know if playing extensively, they vary by length in terms of how long to build up, with your chosen Super Art.
Extra “new stuff” done to meters, is something not probable. They could be best putting resources into fixing length, moving Xbox notifications off to the sides.
Shoot everyone already covered that. While they do flash now for EX, the bars are shorter, so making them right length = everyone should be good.
Right, and you lose all your replays from save corruption, or are forced back into the same match from the start with missing frames, your very next match due to desync.
segmented meters? what are you smoking?
this is 3rd strike. not sf4.
why not just add fadc to 3rd strike? lol
… I want them to add meaties that work to SF4. :smokin:
Water under the bridge.
Covered that
From Everdred ( didn’t know if they would see this in the other thread )
They should have a profile rank system that holds an overall win/loss record including ranked and lobby matches that can be filtered to see specific match up results based on saving your end results based on match ups.
Average match grade
If they fix the rank system player rank based on chess rank system because I believe that’s accurate in representing it.
Win loss ratio
Longest win streak
Number of perfects
Just something to look through while your waiting for a match to start or if your spectating you can hit the start button and check the fighting record of the players in the lobby.
I’m thinking call of duty black ops profile record quality. extensive data but show it like the old school win loss record for snes sf 2. doesn’t have to be flashy just nice to see a record that you can personally work on and share with others in a lobby.
It can be categorized onto separate pages u can left or right trigger through or hit the second left or right trigger to flip to another player to compare from the page your on.
So page 1 of the player profile would be there win loss record and various other data and the filter can be applied to see ranked only or lobby only or tournament or overall.
Page 2 would be character usage. Filters for each character and a separate filter for opponent characters faced and results versus that players most used 3 characters just so it doesn’t bog down the system.
I really hope this post reaches them.
Also fix it so u can put how many rounds u want in lobby/tournament
Random quick stand is missing from training mode on this port. It’s not an important fix but seems like an easy one. I used to use that feature regularly in my training.
As a new player, I haven’t felt qualified to say much about what should be patched, but I gotta say I’m surprised by how many frivolous extras and unrealistic suggestions are being thrown around. I agree with those arguing for arcade perfect and fixing real glitches/problems (especially with the matchmaking and lobbies). Almost anything else is going to lead to more frustration IMO.
Those are all horrible suggestions, if they wasted their time changing that instead of other shit, I’d probably throw my console across the room, find Derek Neal and rub my balls on his face.
yeah i would definitely categorize those into “defer to another patch”. it wouldn’t make sense to put in all that new stuff if other more fundamental things are still broken.
they’re not my suggestions… I just reposted it because I didn’t know if they looked at the thread he posted in, and felt his input is meaningful…
I would be pissed too
Give me a third set of checks between the current input check and and time of execution.
This is regarding ggpo.
I notice in training mode if a character has no health and dudley does ex or fierce machinegun blow the character will block the machine gun blow except for the last hits. ( which doesn’t make much a difference because you can still do your choice of juggle after; however it’s annoying that you can’t find out the exact damage without waiting for the health bar to fill back up.)
