I’d think all of these changes would require changing hardwired code in the game, which I don’t think would be possible without redoing the whole thing from scratch. But in no means am I an expert in coding or anything, we’ll just have to see.
They REALLY have nothing to do how the game plays and works, which is all that matters, stop whining >:(
Iron Galaxy, please make the game not lag on HDTVs.
I’ve tried playing this game on at least 5 different types of LCD/plasma screens at tournaments and friend’s houses and the only time there was no delay was playing on CRT instead… No other game I’ve played on these same TVs lagged (SF4, HD Remix, MVC3, KOF13, etc). I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with the way the game was ported and it’s not a case of TVs lagging at all.
You’ll hear top players complain about laggy TVs ALL THE TIME in OE but I’m actually quite sure it is an issue with the game. I like OE by the way, but if they want this game to be competitive they really need to fix this. I’m not even comparing OE to the CPS3 version, just HDTV vs CRT.
This covers a lot of the same ground as other people but here we go:
Fix the game speed so it’s the same as arcade
Human option in training mode
Input display in training mode <-- This is really bloody important for a lot of people with execution issues and is really trivial to implement.
No stun in training mode
Matchmaking that doesn’t take forever and has either pings or at the very least the same system as SSF4, with regions.
Lobbies with a different button for readying than unreadying
Stop syncing stats, stop with the stupid updates about the stupid goal things and the extra waiting when rematching
4:3 mode without crap on the side
Make it actually arcade perfect, akuma vs seiei enbu, urien blue reflector, ryu bag etc
Bring back the old portraits that were coloured according to the player colour, removing that annoys me so much when watching mirrors
Ranking system like SF4 where losing actually means something
Old music by default for stages
Some form of auto GGPO frame delay for people by default so new people don’t get scared off by GGPO rollback
Also a total wishlist thing that could never happen, but a public API for gathering match results and stats, could even be done through the youtube description if needed, but it would allow the possibility of long term tournament/league systems like danisen in japan for online play, which could be rad.
edit: Yomipower, you really don’t know what is and what is not possible, it’s as equally silly to say X probably isn’t possible as it is to say everything is possible. Yes most of 3S was written in ASM for CPS3 but it’s not like every port is pure emulation of CPS3, there’s clearly some sort of API exposed for the dreamcast port that allowed them to implement training mode options and system direction. It also shouldn’t be out of the question that someone at IG can add new functionality to that API given how much tech heavy stuff they do, but I imagine it could be prohibitively time consuming.
Basically don’t tell people not to raise issues based on a misguided idea of the viability of fixing those issues, let IG decide that.
I’d actually like to see that option while still being able to keep the option of choosing how high or low you want the number to be.
Soft reset…I had no idea how much I would miss that feature. Some feature to toggle through the different color packs at the character select screen would be good, I’m thinking Guilty Gear style here. And make random just another character slot the way Gill is and just pick a random character instantly.
Yeah that’s what I meant, I think it would help a lot for the SF4 generation until they get into the game enough to go for the minimum input delay reasonably possible.
That might very well be, but I just don’t see it happening. Be it an issue of code, time or budget, I think the only thing they can do is to tweak what’s already implemented and not to add or change stuff radically. But I am hoping you’re more right than I am, and it’s pretty much possible that you are.

Fix using a Save State in Parry-Training Mode.
When recording the Dummy in Training, the game will not recognize any combos you perform. You can still do combos, but there’s no indicator on the screen like usual showing the number of hits in your combo, which can throw you off. Please fix this.
When setting up a Ranked Match give an option to mute the other player’s headset or adjust Voice Volume. I play the game with the volume set really low, and if a guy has a mic on picking up the Echo it just **BOOMS **through my CRT’s speakers.
*** In Regards to Lag it really, really needs to be fixed. I play a friend of mine who lives an hour away, he has Cable internet, no router, no wireless anything like me. High speed 10 MBS download 1 MP upload connection. And if I play him in 3SOE it is so delayed, I cannot quick roll, combos don’t happen, I use 3P and 3K macros and hit 3P for an EX Flash Chop and I still get t.HP randomly. An hour away… with GGPO Delay set to 1… FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX THE LAG. Please!
You should consider compiling and organizing the suggestions into an easy to read document and e-mailing it over to iron galaxy with a link to the thread.
Stuff here plus whatever was posted in the other thread.
If they’re going to give a patch a chance, should do all you can to make it as easy as possible for them to target things to fix or change so it’s as easy as possible on their end.
One thing they might want to consider as far as DLC:
NG and 2I stage backgrounds. This is the one thing pretty much every 3S player will purchase. Not sure how intensive it might be to do it, but if it’s possible to be done it would be easy money on Capcom/Iron Galaxy’s part.

Yeah ALL of Qs moves should have 0 frame start up and be all active frames with no recovery. his moves should also hit low and overhead at the same time. the should also all be +45 on block and + 87 on hit. His charge time should be shortened too and His command grab should have way more range like the range of 4 kara-karakusas horizontally and vertically and grab airborne opponents. Qs taunts should also refill his life bar completely. and give him Gills resurection and x-factor. make him throw his fedora as a projectile too thats unblockable. and make his and only his moves unparryable like they all have to be parried high and low at the same time and have 25 hits to parry with erratic timing. His rush punch should also 4 times faster than makotos. And he should have as much life as 5 Hugos. Jk
