You’re obviously not a developper or have any clue of what fixing bugs mean.
Nevermind.
Yeah sure lol. I don’t know how to debug programs. Whatever you want to think.
-trolls suck-
Nothing for UE on PSN ?
this game is just going to stay the way it is.
capcom purposely sold this game for $15. when it was released as garbage, they have a automatic excuse: “Hey this game was only $15, what do you expect?!?”
pretty smart imo.
So it’s up to the players to find out how to trigger the bugs? Whatever happened to beta testing? Oh wait, this is a $15 game so it automatically dismisses them from doing any kind of quality control.
By the way, did anyone know how to replicate the incorrect disconnect %?
I got hit with more annoying bugs after the patch than before. Go figure.
Magically? No. Technically? Yes. Everything? No. Major bugs? Yes.
I get your point, though.
The game just updated to v1.01, does anyone know what it’s all about? I can’t seem to find anything about it. I don’t know any better, so I couldn’t tell what’s changed and what hasn’t, but I hope it fixes at least one of somebody-here’s gripes…
Here’s the list of supposed fixes:

sigh… I wish I found out about this earlier, I really could have used that on one or two challenges…
3SO has been pretty much unplayable online for me from day 1. I don’t have the one-off occurrences of these bugs like everyone else seems to. I get then 100% of the time. Literally every time I try to play online through player matches, I encountered a sync freeze and had to physically switch off my console, assuming I can make it to the end of a match anyway. I’ve been able to find one ranked match since the game was released, and that came from waiting for about 10 minutes. That was as long as I was prepared to test.
When in matches, sometimes the game just decides to stop it. I’ll be in the middle of a match and the screen will suddenly pop to the lobby. Sometimes my opponent will still be there, sometimes they won’t. No message from the game or anything, just poof.
I don’t understand why I get it so bad. I have absolutely no problems with any other games online, even MvC3, which everyone reports to be the worst online experience Capcom has produced from a fighting game thus far. If this patch doesn’t somehow fix what’s essentially a broken game for me, that means Capcom has basically stolen my $15.
Why the fuck does Ranked keep matching me to the same 4 fucking assholes over and over again? I DON’T WANT TO PLAY YOU LAGGY WHORES!
i know nothing about game development specifically, but from what i’ve seen, here’s how bugfixing goes:
- we have a report that this glitch happens, but it’s sporadic and difficult to reproduce
- stakeholders think about it, evaluate whether it’s worth spending hours trying to reproduce or not, or whether the issue is a showstopper
- all things considered, the bug gets deferred. alas, if only there were steps to reproduce the bug, cuz unless they’ve got extra time or resources, they’re not going to be spending hours, nevermind 1 hour, playing the game to try to reproduce something when they don’t have anything to go on (yes, nothing to go on, not even a report of which fucking console it happens on). can you blame them? they’ve got other shit to do.
it’s not a dude who is like, “oh man, it would suck to see that issue if i played the game. i gotta track it down. let me drop everything and try to reproduce this issue.” and no manager is going to be like, “you, all you’re working on for the next couple of days is tracking these issues down.” what if he doesn’t find them?
walking through the online code would be good, but what would they be looking for? how much of the code are they responsible for, where they’d even want to read it? i don’t know what kind of unit tests, or whatever, iron galaxy wrote to test different things, but i assume that’s what they would rely on to ensure that different parts of their code work the way they should. if there isn’t a specific test for it, then that shit won’t come out until it’s been hammered a lot with crazy edge conditions. and i don’t know how they would even predict those issues, much less write a test for them.
some sort of stress testing framework for fighting games would be cool, make it run through its paces under various conditions over a very long period of time. ::shrug::
me neither, but you need to get in contact with iron galaxy (email above) / capcom (contact?) because you can reproduce the issues so reliably for them. i’ve never seen the color glitch issue. the game has frozen only twice ever (which is 2 too many times, but still). some special conditions are triggering these issues, and i don’t seem to have those conditions.
Meh…
Before the update, i had 1% deconnection, now i have 62%… WTF Capcom ??? Now, nobody want to play me in ranked, come on…
I’ve found that if you just exit after failing and re-enter, it will sometimes occur; I’ve managed to make it happen about 4 times just exiting and re-entering quickly. Happens at around 1:45 in this video.
Also encountered some bug where when doing parry trial 3 (This is the first part of this video), qhere you end up as Ken against Ryu instead of the reverse. Ryu still does a HP Shoryuken, but it’s impossible to succeed because the game is looking for you to parry 3 hits. It happened after idling in the menu screen for a several minutes before entering the trial, but since I haven’t been able to reproduce it, I’m not sure if that’s relevant even.
So, the patch that came out didn’t help at all.
It did to me. People need to understand every player can have a different game experience, depending on a shit load of parameters.
Since the patch I’ve been able to actually find lobbies with yellow ping hosts, however the lobbies I make now seem to be more unstable, with players getting randomly dropped. Right now it seems to be a case of you take the good with the bad. At this point I’m hoping Capcom has more patches slated other than the upcoming one they mentioned awhile ago.
Sometimes when I’m looking for a ranked match, one will pop up and it automatically checks me off as ready even though I wasn’t near my stick to press X. Pisses me off because I’ll get thrown into a red ping match sometimes and end up losing because the connection is terrible.
crazy how the bugs are different across the board and vary form ps3 to 360 :wtf:
one bug i can recreate is in a lobby 1 vs 1. If i hit exit and the opponent hits rematch it flips the p1 and p2 side and distorts the colors of the characters on screen. i could only duplicate it on xbox though. it doesnt happene every time. its sporadic
finally got around to trying the game again post-patch. while i was waiting for my turn in a lobby, the caption at the bottom incorrectly told me what was happening in the current match. it said players were choosing stages for the duration of their actual gameplay, then when my name was switched in, it briefly said “match in progress” until the countdown timer began for my match. never saw that before the patch. anybody else seen this?
yeah after trying a few lobbies, it seems strange. i’ll get the host migration message (i’m not the host) multiple times in a row, and suddenly i’ll be the only one there. if i search again i might find the same lobby with the same people, as if the entire thing picked itself up and relocated without me. it used to happen before the patch but not as often.
All of this happened to me before the new patch, and is still happening.
