I understand they were going for the authentic feel of 3s, but do the online replays really have to look like they are from youtube 6 years ago? lol
This game is glitchy as SHIT.
About the 50th time where I hit someone, they go into their hit animation, but suddenly- their Super or some obscene counter comes out on their part. Leaving me with a big “WTF?!” over my head. And usually it’s a mk leading to something or hp/hk. Just meaties, for the record.
Seriously, I played on Supercade A LOT and never had these issues. WTF is up w/ this game, man? >:-(
why is this thread glitches and bugs. this is just a wishlist.
online shit isnt glitches so everyone please shut up already it’s how ggpo rolls shit back. understand how ggpo works and 99% of these ‘glitches’ disappear.
Idk if this is a glitch or anything, but I can’t get the stats to the right that usually show how many times you’ve parried for example. Anyone know how to make them show up?
If you think about it, with only so much RAM and HD space, todays consoles probably can’t handle encoding to HD.
With all due respect, I think I’d rather spend time learning how the GAMEPLAY works, and not how their netcode works. Kinda least on priority list of things to do.
Just sayin’
I’m not looking for HD anyway. 480p would be more than enough.
While doing the trial for Q on a standard PS3 controller, Q would often throw out a cr. Roundhouse while I did the hcb motion for C&DB without pressing an attack button. I had to hit random buttons to get back to a normal state so I could input the motion without an attack coming out. I then plugged in an arcade stick and the problem went away.
Not really thread related, my bad:
what i find surprising is there is no difference, from what i heard, between oe online and pc ggpo.
I’m curious to know what having the source code of 3s has changed in the process.
I mean, detecting the KO glitch is probably really easy, even without the source code, but it seems to still happens.
I’m having this same issue. Normally its either A or B Button that wont work for me
Another issue I’m having is when I get into an online match I have to remap my buttons everytime, otherwise NO button does anything. This can really suck when the guy doesn’t notice and kicks the crap out of me for the first 5 seconds of the round while I try to map my buttons real quick
Some random glitches I encountered:
- Was playing against a Urien, but the game was using Makoto’s sound effects. Probably in line with various other SFX glitches.
- After several matches, a player match lobby wouldn’t start a new match. We were all marked as ready, but the lobby just sat there. It wasn’t a particular person lagging out, either, because everyone left and new people joined, but it still didn’t work.
- Not so much 3SOE specific, but with every modern networked console game: Please don’t error out to main menu when searching for a match, but failed to join. Just try to automatically join another match. I think 3SOE does this a little, but I still error out to main menu occasionally.
- When doing Chun-Li trial mode, I one time restarted on the left side of Chun-Li instead of the right side, like the save state didn’t load correctly. Chun-Li ended up doing qcf qcf roundhouse the wrong way, and just roundhouse came out.
As far as the KO sounds mistakenly playing, or parry sounds playing, yea, that’s GGPO rolling back, it comes with the territory, and it’s always going to be there unless you crank up the input delay. That said, **3S on actual GGPO **rolls back the sound engine as well, so that you’d only hear a few frames of the KO or parry sound until it rolled back. 3SOE does not seem to roll back sounds, so it’s far more noticeable. It also makes hit confirms more annoying, because you hear the full sounds and react to them. You can do a better implementation of GGPO using the game’s original source code than using emulation, but it’s probably harder – It might be more work to roll back all of the separate subsystems (sound) using the raw source, whereas an emulator by nature has the state of the entire machine at each moment.
I don’t know for others but UK version freezes after ‘‘press start’’ screen. Tried 3 times.
These are all really good points and I hope the developers take advantage of the data.
Looks like the QA team on this game sucked mad dick, lol
My xbox has frozen twice playing this shit. Would be nice if they’d actually tested it before sending it out.
Very weird stuff online. Hope I explained it well. I havnt experience these problems when I played on ggpo or 2dfighter.
-When I hit a character, it shows the character getting attacked but a split second later I hear a parry sfx and then it shows them actually parrying my attack.
-When I hit a character, it shows the character in stun then a split second later you see that they were actually blocking.
-The stages background skips frames when both characters on the far opposite side of the screen moving back and forth.
-It takes forever to get into a rank match (not really a glitch but 10 minutes is a long time, 3 matches was 30 minutes)
- My playstation froze 5 times when it goes back to menu screen.
This might be lag, but damn it hard to play it like this when it happens constantly,
Ranked matches. Found non.
Player Matches sometimes the game will not start match making lobby Useless.
i’m starting to wonder if it’s a NAT issue. like two people getting matched up are then unable to connect in the lobby, and the game doesn’t know what to do, so one of the two people causing the hold-up has to leave or go to the back of the line. the big problem with this is that there’s no way to foresee whether or not you’ll have this problem with whoever the winner is going to be. you could wait for several minutes then end up having to leave.
-ps3 single player does not have trials, training or vault. when i press single player it goes straight to an arcade match. weird…
-xbox version froze my xbox once. bt so far the xbox version has more lobbies
yeah me too. it seems mostly the same but a friend and I would play on ggpo from time to time between NJ and Massachussetts and on GGPO is was OK. On OE it seems to be pretty damn good. definitely better. by how much I cant quantify but its definitely better. It may also have to do with the fact that the timing is much closer to arcade, so theres more time to react to things online where you’re already missing some of that time due to latency.
funny seeing you here.
about the re-searching function everyone would like to see in online games. I think Sven or someone actually explained they can’t do that due to rules the companies have in place for live and psn. something about the user having to have control over it acknowledge it, and then choose again to search.
As far as kicking back to the main menu yeah that’s just a pain in the ass.
hope to see you on! im going to find jwangggg and e-beat him up.
