For the oiled up version you should look at iceman in mvc2 to figure out a simple shine animation.

steamboy33 i wanted to say to you that you can get a street fighter 3 or alpha template so that the group of the sprites are automatically arranged or if you intend to create your own group of animation make sure you take care of the following things
standing animation
walking animation
punch
kick
block
projectile(optional)
hyper optional
