One random fact about yourself pertaining to Fighting games

WRESTLERS ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!! EVEN HUGO MOFUCKA!!! (but its so hard to win with him sometimes :’()

Yeah I usually use wrestling characters… I used to be into wrestling a wholeee lot when I was a teenager but I grew out it really but the characters stick. I don’t want to learn all those combos!!! All I need to do is ONE hold move and I’ve already done one of your 20 hit combos!! Hehehehe

I love to punish, and what better way to punish with a devestating hold move?

I like to make guard break and all the unfair winning tactics useless.

I always hit a brick wall in every (fighting) game I get into competitively that I can’t get past.

And me and Sagat are the same height iirc.

Edit: I play big characters in most games too

SF2 and 4: Zangief
Smash: Donkey Kong
Marvel: Sentinel
Arcana Heart: Kira

If there’s a fighting game with projectile characters in it I’m playin’ it.

I am 100% style over substance. I WILL have my own style. The moment I find someone doing the same thing I do even by coincidence, I come up with different shit.

My real name is Choi and I hate that little fucker in KoF

The first character I ever played in a street fighter game was Necro, and I ended up maining him.
I always play characters that stun a lot.
And switching from necro to c.viper as they feel completely different to me yet I still play with the same style(A little more rush downish with viper but still :P)
I’ve never played stick, yet I’ve had a sanwa jlf and 6 sanwa buttons for about 2 years waiting for the right moment to get a stick and mod it lol.

Edit: Taking a break from the game helps me get past the brick wall I had hit for a while, I dunno what it is I just come back and suddenly I’m better.

Dash up throw gets me. EVERY TIME. no matter how slow the game is.

I like virtua fighter 4 evo over everything

aside from vf4evo, whenever i choose like a character in a game, they tend to be the worst one.

guile in sfiv
rose in sfiv
rose in @3
C-groove Yun in CVS2
Remy
Link, if that counts

However, whenever I choose an initial character before getting good with the characters i like, they’re usually one of thebest in a game

Fox in Melee
Charlie and Sakura in alpha 3
C-guile in cvs2
BalRog in SFIV
Dudley in SFIV

I used to use shotos to no end. now i’m in love with charge characters, wouldn’t be who i am without them =D

I used to play blonde dudes in all my fighters. Ken in SF, Siegfried in Soul Calibur, Link in Smash, and Terry in Garou and RB2 and he was always in my KoF/CvS teams. I didn’t do it intentionally, I just sort’a…noticed it one day. I’ve broken the habit now, though. (but I will probably keep picking Terry)

I love charge characters, qcf’s bore me to tears

I regret admitting that I play on a pad cuz I can’t afford a stick

My favorite characters always end up being low tier characters. It’s not that I like low tier characters, it’s that the character’s whose design, history, and/or style that I like just almost always end up being crap.

I’ve played so many bad people in SFIV that I can never take anybody seriously anymore…and because of this, my level of focus and my reflexes have gone to shit

I have a tendency to press buttons unnecessarily even when it’s not going to work in my favor at all. Hence me having a hard time with the Ultra system in SFIV. I like to just kinda press buttons to keep momentum and I don’t realize that everyone has K groove in SFIV and I get comboed into Ultra. Yay.

I play Sophitia in Soul Calibur 4 because of the gratuitous upskirts.

Obviously I have some kind of weird fetish for sumos that I wasn’t even aware of until people brought it to my attention. My mains in each of the following games:

SF: Hyundai
Tek: Ganryu
VF: Taka(if they release R on consoles I have a feeling I will drop Jeff/Lei-Fei for him)

I don’t plan this. It’s purely coincidental. Like, I couldn’t figure out years ago why I loved Gan(RS, PJ) so damn much. Not my character type at all, or at least I thought. I’ll play the cool characters and shit all day but when I’m down, I pull out the sumos…

^^Hyundai gtfo hahahaha

Beauty of fighting games is, especially in major franchises like KoF and SF, every character will have their good game(the other way is also true in most cases).

Athena. Mid to bottom every game until 2002.
Blanka. Mid to bottom every game until CVS.
Cammy. Mid to bottom every game until CvS.
May. Crap until GGX2#R.
Leon. Shit until VF5 where he is mid.
Tamao. Shit until VG Max.

The only case where this hasn’t happened in a popular fighter was Yunsung. Also maybe in Smash, Koopa(Bowser) and DK. Yunsung/“YunSeong” only had 3 competitve games, I do see him get buffs in future. Also this trend doesn’t happen if devs don’t know how to balance shit, yeap, like Tasogare Frontier and ex Nanase plus Kaori. For major companies like Sega, Nintendo, Namco, Capcom, SNK and such, they’ll get shit straight.

If a character has something gimicky/tricky i’ll play that character regardless of anything else.

Which is also why i cannot keep a main in GG for more than a week.

Yeah I know. ONE FACT but whatever.

  1. I always gravitate towards fire wielders. Sol/O.Sol in GG and Kyo/K’/Ash in KOF. When KOF XI came out I was planning on having K’/Kyo/Ash as a team. I main K’/Kyo/Nameless in KOF 2002UM. All fire wielders. I even once thought of having O.Chris/Iori/Kyo as a team in 98.

  2. I can’t Flash Kick in any SF game.

  3. I always have to have someone with a DP that I play. 95% of the characters I play in 2D FGs have DPs. Sagat/Akuma/Ken/Sol/O.Sol/K’/Kyo/Iori/Robert/K9999/Nameless

  4. I can’t do any of Gief’s command grabs.

  5. I can’t play grapplers.

  6. I mash too much in games I’m not experienced in. Case in point KOF.

  7. I like characters that aren’t social and laid back. Like K’ and Sol.

  8. I can’t hop in KOF 98. Whenever I try it, I super jump instead.

  9. I love brunettes, I like ninjas and love huge breasts. Mai in KOF has all that I want to kill her. I hate her with all of my being.

  10. Didn’t realize this until someone pointed it out. I hate Chinese girls in FGs. Ling Xiaohou(sp?) in Tekken, Chun Li in SF, Jam in GG.

I don’t mean to sound like a dick, but what’s so hard about comboing? All you do is press buttons in a certain sequence. Then add a motion. Or just press a button like hard punch and then do the motion.

I do understand difficulty 1 or 2 frame links. But canceling isn’t hard. Is there something that makes it troublesome?

I didn’t know what 3rd Strike was when I first saw it. I saw it being played and saw Ken vs Dudley and thought “What game is that?! Mugen?!”

Yeah… that’s how much 3rd Strike was advertised here. And I was subscribed to NextGen and Dreamcast magazines and only saw maybe 1 advertisement for it ever.

If Akuma, Honda, K’, or Iori are in a game, I’ll play it and them.
