Yeah I find it a little weird, even for One Piece. I only accept this because hey, it’s Sanji!
-
Luffy needs a challenger indeed. I wonder if Caribou might offer some challenge but I doubt it. We might need a Supernova or even a Yonkou (Kaidou) to truly make him sweat a little.
-
Jinbe is probably going to give a Luffy a gist of the goings on in the New World, and all its threats.
Wonder who the “someone” is or what the big shadow is all about, and what their reasons are for preventing humans coming to fishman island.

Re Luffy brokeness - Guy could take on an admiral now.
Its the ‘ghost ship’ we saw on the way down, pretty sure. Flying Dutchman.
I didn’t think the okama sanji bit could be topped, but mermaid shaped nose bleed takes the cake. Welcome back, old (new?) sanji.
lol…when did luffy become a jedi master. lol…kneel before luffy!
damn sanji’s nosebleed…oda took a damn manga meme and brought it to a whooole new level.
Ah thats right, thanks for refreshing my memory.
Biggest nosebleed ever. I’m pretty sure Sanji would have no regrets if he died right there.
Why didn’t the damn shark guy just say he had a message from Jinbei when he recognized Luffy?
Oh manga having to draw stuff out forever. At least Luffy beat some people up.
I’m fairly sure that all types of fiction draw stuff out seemingly unnecessarily, VS. And in this case, it was kind of legitimate given that even if Shark Prince–wonder why Oda didn’t specify what type of shark he was–had said he had a message from Jinbei, it’s not like Luffy would have slowed down. He would have just said “I’ll find you later!” or, at best, “Hop on!” (even though it was the royal transport they’re high-jacking) if he listened at all.
Yeah, that’s what I thought it was alluding to as well. Additionally, the issue of the Kraken and probably that shark with the T-shirt’s master.
Pretty hilarious. I’m not sure how I feel about the nosebleed thing being canon either, but I kind of lean towards finding liking it or at least finding it interesting considering how often that meme shows up in manga.
Sanji really needs to train under Zoro or something and level up his blood-loss resistance.
Comedy aside, anyone else find it extremely fucked up that Tiger Fisher apparently died of something as mundane as the denial of a blood transfusion? I thought he got killed giving the Celestial Dragons the flaming finger when he burned their city, but this somehow makes his death even worse…
Fisher Tiger had to be a seriously strong dude. He leveled that entire city he had to have fought Admirals and Sengoku. WOW that shit is fucking ridiculous . I mean damn its fucking blood. Man that is some bullshit.
Not really. Isn’t there a trope for super strong people always dying of something stupid?
He just got Goku heart disease. Its just silly that the shark guy was like “NOW WE CAN’T GIVE HIM JINBEI’S MESSAGE! DUN DUN DUN!” when he stole the ship they came on. Don’t they have some sort of fish communication system where he can be like “Yo, we’ll help your friend, we also have a message from Jinbei for you. We are on your side”
Now we have to go through the same ol’ one piece arc again. I’m ready to switch it to the other group and see Zollo do something.
Oh yeah, and we all know Zoro ate the blood blood fruit. It has no weaknesses other then you are going to get attacked all the time simply because you have all that blood. Just like how Jack from Jack of Fables is always getting basically killed because he is immortal.
Yeah, that’s true. Seems like the stronger the character, the lamer their death is. Gold D. Roger was the strongest ever in the OP world, but he gets taken out by some “mysterious” disease. I’m thinking he ate the AIDS AIDS fruit.
Another stupid death was Kuina’s infamous falling down the stairs demise. Even though she never got the chance to be a powerhouse, you have to wonder how strong she would’ve become if she had survived.
I mean at least everytime Dinobot died he went out like a champ.
So did Barry Allen.
I guess Japanese people just suck at writing awesome deaths. I’m sure if I took 3 seconds I could think of a couple not lame ones. Like the 4th Hokage. Beat up Madara, punked out the fox, and saved his son.
Lol “AIDS AIDS fruit” .
Yeah, but Dinobot wasn’t super broken (like Rampage), so it make sense that he didn’t die of stupid shit. Long live Dinobot (in legendary robot warrior valhalla)
Hmm, all this time, I thought that fishmen were the male versions of Mermaids, I guess not.
It is a shocker (and mentioned by Usopp) that Sanji’s post time skip joke quirk, would lead to such a dramatic development and the full reintroduction of the whole racism angle the Fishmen/mermaids have. Complete with mentioning of secret lynchings and Fisher Tiger being a victim of its practices.
Oh well, I don’t feel bad about those mermaid princes, Luffy’s display probably shook them so bad they didn’t even know what the fuck to do, let alone let him know what Jimbei’s message was. It ain’t looking good for Jimbei being alive however.
A couple of questions though…
1.) What is up with the big breasted Boa, Nami and Robin merchandise they were advertising, isn’t this a family magazine or am I underestimating Japan’s tolerance for marketing sex?
2.) But if we are getting a chapter this weekend, does that mean this is the new chapter this Wednesday or Thursday or are we going two weeks without OP, aside from the break mentioned at the end of the chapter?
It sounds like were going 2 weeks with out a chapter and anime ( according to watch OP which says that 482 will be on 8th of Jan. ) Wtf ?!
It’s a shame Sanji isn’t Zoro’s blood type, since he has a nigh infinite supply of blood.
Yeah that’s very messed up on the part of the humans. Especially considering that these were probably the humans that he saved.
Not only that, but he climbed the humongous Red Line natural barricade barehanded before beasting.
Improvissssse!
A true G. R.I.P. pours 40oz
I can’t believe I forgot to mention this important revelation-
There are Mer-fish? MER-FISH?
So not only do Mermaids turn into terrestrial humans after a certain age, but that can reproduce with Fishmen and make Mermaid/Fishman hybrids?!
Well it was confirmed that you can have half-giant/half-fishmen in the Davy Back arc, so I guess it shouldn’t be a super surprise. It’s kind of weird that we haven’t seen any Mermen though…
As for the other races:
-Pretty certain Moria was a snake neck.
-That random walrus dude on Whitebeard’s fleet was a minkman.
I want to see a Longarm/Snake Neck, Giant/Mermaid, and a Human/Minkman hybrid.
Could the propagation of these races have something to do with what happened in the Void Century?
I could be wrong, but I think I the Shonen Jump that releases around this time (the one with the latest One Piece chapter) is a holiday double issue, which means that there won’t be another Shonen Jump for a week. In addition, Oda stated in the most recent chapter that One Piece will be on break for the next Shonen Jump, so I think it will be towards the middle of January when we get another One Piece chapter. If I recall correctly, the same thing happened last year (Oda took a one week break).
