The fixation on his sunglasses is ridiculous.
Two more weeks, then God Usopp earns his name in the anime. That oughta distract folks from the indestructible glory of Sunglasses-sama.
Ussop might finally get his own bounty after this. God “Sogeking” Ussop.
I want to see Yassop’s reaction to that
with 4/3 mins remaining expect another 4 weeks of this, each chapter being a minute thats left. Honestly, I love one piece but sometimes it CAN be a bit slow. Oda doesnt really have to go into THAT much detail.
Y’all complain way too much about pacing. At least Oda does chapters.
Fuck you Togashi!
Niggas that complain about One Piece pacing need to take that shit over to Bleach, where they have spent two weeks in a fucking elevator. No joke.
TWO WEEKS GOING UP IN AN ELEVATOR. NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED AT ALL.
I wonder if Gecko Moria is going to make an appearance in this arc. His disappearance at the war of the best was a mystery. He may have legitimate beef with Doffy, and this would be as good of chance as any to get some revenge. Assuming he’s still alive of course.
You’re all acting as if we can’t criticize one man’s work because someone else’s work is more offensive.
Grow up. Oda has awful pacing for this entire arc. He’s drawing out Dressrosa for who knows what reason. This is the same thing as Mermaid Island. There are just some panels we don’t need. The other part is that I’m convinced he does this to make sure each chapter has a cliffhanger he likes. That’s fine, but goddamn come on. Speed it up.
I agree with @Raz0r . It seems Oda wants more Marine Ford war arcs going on for every arc now when it’s just not necessary.
Doesn’t make it less good, but it is making it take far longer than it needs too.
It’s going to be REAL hard for him to top Marine Ford. That arc was pretty much everything he had in him. If he can, great, but I don’t expect it.
Gone are the days when we’ll have an arc of only 8-15 episodes/chapters (like the ones in east blue at the beginning of the manga/anime). We have too many crew members to make that happen. And with Oda’s penchant for utilizing all of his characters, that is just not going to happen.
Dat nigga dead, yo. Doffy off-panel’d him.
Although some Dr. Hogback shenanigans could bring him back… but I doubt it.
All we know is that Moria went “poof” according to Doffy. Mihawk didn’t believe that Moria had died when he was talking to Persona. So who knows. He did have that ability to switch his body with his shadow.
I can see it now… Luffy finally drops Doflamingo, but wait! Doffy’s Busoushoku Haki won’t let him go down… In one last, twisted, desperate act, he tries to use his remaining Bird Cage strings to cut down the exhausted Luffy, but POOF
Strawhat is gone, and a “Shadow” Luffy is the one that gets sliced up. Right before he passes out, a defeated Doflamingo looks up to see the figure of one Gecko Moria holding onto Luffy’s unconscious body.
Before he can utter a word of surprise, Moria tells him, “You’ve lost, Doflamingo… This boy will be Pirate King, and all your ambitions and secret deals with the Gorosei and Kaidou will not stop him. The new age is coming… We Shichibukai and the Tenryuubito are no longer needed in this world.”
Cue bitching about Dressrosa arc taking even longer to end due to this turn of events…
Nigga Moria hates Doflamingo but he fucking DESPISES Kaido. Kaido’s first mention of his name was Moriah remembering how Kaido bodied his whole crew, with moriah being the only survivor. I know he hates doffy but his hate for kaidou is real.
I could see Gecko Moriah working for Luffy because he was never really a threat to him, in alliance form only though because we all know that Moriah wants the one piece himself as well. Which means more Perona and Zoro interactions. There are many comedy duos in the show but the ones that made me laugh the most are Sanji/Zoro and Perona/Zoro.
I don’t think Moria will show up in Dressrosa. I could see him appearing whenever they start having more direct interactions with Kaido.
Yeah Kaido stole Moria’s smile…
…but not his laugh.
god damn it i thought the chapter was up.
oops, honestly, what’s stopping kaido from just showing up? doesn’t he need to protect his investments or does he feel like doffy can handle it
Chapter is up, Enjoy.
Last time I stay up all night.
The pacing issue’s been argued to death, it’s not even worth entertaining. As long as the plot is moving coherently I don’t really care. The ones with issues with the pacing should do what my friend does and take a 3 month hiatus and then read all the chapters in bulk. What I will say is that Oda’s management might be influencing him to pepper his story with more stuff so the animators can further BS their way into prolonging episodes. Catching up with the OP eps I see them adding a lot of fluff to even the most minor panels in the manga. It’s ridiculous and I think they should just take a break instead of inching the story to a near purgatory levels of boredom.
Now on to the new chapter:
I like the fact that Fuji is helping, and the fact that he can’t ID the supposedly “evil” pirates, just the intentions of the people that surround him. It makes his interactions with the Mugiwaras funny because Luffy and co. have no malice to detect. He’s trying his best to help passively so he doesn’t undermine Doflamingo in any overtly public way.
My guess is that Viola sacrificed her defense in order to strike Doflamingo’s vitals using her ability. She’s probably gravely wounded from her kamikaze plan but I know Doffy was rocked by the attack, hence the birdcage stopping momentarily.
@PatakaReada Kaido is likely to show up near the end of the arc, the New World is a big place after all, a lot of ocean to cover.
Your Joker motif only adds to the brevity. (ironically also Doflamingo’s nickname)
But yeah this is the face of a broken man:

One of my favorite panels in the series. Moria used living corpses so he didn’t have to worry about reliving the loss of his crew ever again, his madness brought on by Kaido.
