But, the shades still haven’t come off, and until they do, shit has yet to get really real… Doffy’s counterattack is coming, and this shit is about to become a slobberknocker.

I’m guessing only White Oda can answer this but I wonder what scientific principles Oda used to create gear 4th and I wonder what it means for Luffy’s future attacks / gears.

Didn’t believe Luffy would ever get such a form change, normally with Shoen they are supposed to be terrifying or pretty, this looks like one of those old Japanese pictures with big ass dudes. I fucking love SO much though having seen what it lets him do.
I agree but I feels this will be longer, Luffy’s wins always got to have a bit more drama and we need to see Zoro’s plan to save the town. Two chapters on Zoro pulling a Sanji and saving the majority of the bystanders with a plan (which knowing Zoro will probably be dumb as hell but manly as fuck and still work) and the 3 for the main fight with Doffy getting his comeback moment before getting knocked the fuck out and reliving some mental trauma he still carried with him just before night night. Then party.
Zoro is going to end up so lost that he somehow managed to get OUTSIDE of the bird cage lol. Like in that filler episode when they landed into the marine base

We can’t underestimate 'Mingo though. He has shown himself to be rather adaptive and right now he’s analyzing Luffy’s abilities. Doffy hasn’t even shown us the full extent of his powers and even worse is currently surrounded by “Parasaito” fodder that Luffy might have to protect. Gear 4th alone won’t be enough, everything will boil down to barebone willpower.
And then there’s the fact that he holds a true king’s disposition. Even when he does fall, it won’t be like the others. His body may break, but I don’t think his willpower be destroyed solely by “sending him flying”. He’s a persistent SOB who will try something even on his last breath.
I wouldn’t go that far, I don’t think he wouldn’t be owned per se, but I doubt he could do any lasting damage at this stage. Not even Doflamingo is admiral level.
Will zoro/sanji get upgrades as well?
Ok before i start talking about gear 4, let’s get some quick thoughts about this chapter out of the way first:

[]The panic of the people getting away from the birdcage was alright. You can tell that the tension was getting even more severe by the minute.
[]The scene with Baby 5 calling Sai darling was cute. LOL
[]Not much to say about the small conversation between Cabbage and Law other than it was a nice foreshadowing of what’s to come once Doflamingo is defeated.
[]I’m willing to bet that the kick that Doflamingo used against Luffy is the same one that he used to cut the four corners of the palace with a while back.

Right off the bat, it looks like a silly Nightmare Luffy rehash, but a very cool one, and it fits Luffy perfectly since he’s a silly kinda guy which makes this gear form so….Luffy! Hell, I think this should be nicknamed “Gorilla D. Luffy”! XD
This is why i’m glad that i didn’t partake in any major discussions about gear 4 since the one thing that I’ve learned from the Super Saiyan God fiasco was to not have any expectations (or at the very least, any high expectations) for any new battle forms that the main character will get in the near future.
Now about it’s abilities. As some people expected, it’s almost like a balanced state between Gear 2 (Speed-wise) and Gear 3 (Strength-wise). I really like how the arms and legs act like pistons and springs of sorts, kinda similar to Bellemy’s Bane Bane no mi.

Anyway, What i also really love about this form the most is how it incorporates aspects/principles of other Rokushiki techniques besides just Soru, such as using [his piston spring-like legs to use geppo to simulate flight](http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o319/joesephes/one-piece-5631845 - Copy_zps0rrucnyr.jpg) as well as using aspects of geppoto direct one of his punches in a zig zag manner.
I even liked the way that his body deflected Doffy’s kick (since his body is rubber after all)since the way it was executed sort of reminds me of Tekkai Utsugi in a way.
You know, I find it impressive that two of the strawhats (Sanji and Luffy respectively) are still adapting Rokushiki into their combat repertoire in one way or another. I just wish that a certain other strawhat had adapted a Rokushiki technique (maybe Shigan perhaps) into their combat abilities to become just as impressive.

Anyway, that’s all i want to say about Gear 4 and this chapter as a whole! I loved it and I can’t wait for the next chapter! 
It would be wild if Doflamingo forced Luffy to kill him because he was trying to take the entire town of Dressrosa with him. That by itself could darken this arc up a little because it would teach Luffy what it means to be a pirate in the new world.
Up till now, Luffy was never in a situation where he had to kill his opponents to win because the Navy came by and interfered. In this case, the Navy is not allowed to interfere with Doflamingo’s plans even if it means the death of an entire town.
Luffy saving gear 5 for emperors/admirals
Dofla is officially in a lose lose situation. Even if Luffy lets him live, he has Kaido to worry about and his reputation as the underground lord is officially shot to shit. He has no where to run now.
Except that…
Zoro and his sword-buddies are going to go block those strings. And I’m gonna guess that Fujitora gets in on that action. Possibly Kyros too. Possibly the travellin’ gladiator gang, too.
Ooh. Ooh! Second prediction time!
Seeing as his birdcage is being restrained by all the swordguys (and his sunglasses came off), Doflo goes “screw it, I’m done splitting my attention”. Pulls in all his strings: Birdcage, Parasaito, cloud strings and all. Uses them all to try to murder the living fuck out of Luffy.
Yeah I also was thinking Megaman when Luffy’s fist retracted into his forearm.
Nice comparison with the Tekkai Utsugi and Gear 4th’s rebound effect.
The fact that his arm can geppou is also ridiculous, as well as his own aerial movement which looks to be even faster than Lucchi’s Kamisori. Doflamingo didn’t even have time to turn around before getting Rhino Schneider’d in the face.
I did not think Mega man but I did think of a robot, mainly how cool would it be if Luffy’s finisher in this form including something like a Big O style piston punch at the end. Fuck trying to even pretend there is something like real biology to Luffy’s attacks any more.
