One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

I was like WTF while reading…I actually need a mangastream translation to hopefully help make sense of it all. That felt like some babblefish type shit…

  • :bluu:

Panda translation is up. It’s kinda full of Engrish (and some pretty blatant mistranslations) in places, to the point where it’s hard to figure out what exactly is going on. But, it’s there!

Anyway!

[details=Spoiler]We finally get that Corazon flashback. Wonder how many chapters that’ll last. I am curious about Cora.

Man. There are so many tsundere adopted parental figures in One Piece Flashback land
[/details]

Oh yeah. Guess what week it is next week?

That’s right, kids. It’s ONE PIECE BREAK WEEK! Man, I almost missed it.

(For real, though, I don’t mind. A healthier Oda-san is a better Oda-san.)

MangaStream’s version is up.

I’m guessing that…

Spoiler

Corazon is the previous user of the Op-Op fruit. And note the shirt…

I don’t get hung up on translations much, but Mangastream’s is 35 times better.

So Law’s parent’s were doctors, and Doflo most likely has one of those world treasures or something, maybe he knows of the existence of the ‘devil tree’ - and that’s how with caesar’s help they were able to make artificial fruits.

  • :bluu:

Wow so the Ope Ope no Mi is even more powerful than I thought:

Spoiler

I think Corazon’s behavior is probably due to watching his brother decapitate his own father in cold blood. And his abuse is a failed effort to make these kiddie underling GTFO before they get wrapped up with his psychopathic brother.

Also I’m guessing, like @King9999 said that he’s the original holder of Law’s fruit.

The secret kept hidden by the Gorosei is probably the last great weapon- Uranus!

It could be a great weapon, but I don’t think so, its “existence” is a ‘secret’, the others weren’t really secrets. I think it’s somethign else - again I’m leaning towards a devil tree.

ESPECIALLY if Corazan was the holder of the ope fruit first, then it would be weird the Doflo was able to get his hands on that fruit and the mera fruit after the owner died. He either knows the system or knows the source. Yeah the fruits can spring up anywhere it seems, but I have a gut feeling there is still a process of all the fruits starting in one place before going elsewhere…there is some kind of system.

However I counter my argument by saying I do NOT think Corazan had the fruit, if he did they they wouldn’t have been ‘looking’ for it.

I still wish I could get a devil fruit IRL. Fun shit…

Yeah, that first translation had me confused as to what was going on with the Marines although I got what the gist of the second half.

Thank heaven for the good one that is currently out though, sucks we are getting another break next week. But whatever gets Oda through the to the end of the franchise.

There is obviously a system, and your theory is possible, but the Ancient Weapons are not common knowledge. Throughout the series only royalty, spies, the WG heads, and a few key characters even knew of their existence, and each one is said to be able to cause worldwide cataclysms. I’m pretty sure where Enel is where Uranus can be found.

Corazon might have had the fruit but when he met his end, Doffy was probably desperate to find it again. He got his hands on the Mera Mera no mi, a supremely rare Logia, so he probably has his methods, Law might’ve been lucky in obtaining it.

The Devil Tree is probably in Raftel, or at least it’s one of passageways that can unlock its whereabouts. The interesting thing is that Blackbeard said that his fruit is different, having originated from"The Devil Himself" so there is more to the fruits than just the tree.

I hear you about not being common knowledge, but Doflo is acting as though NO ONE knows about it but the royals, making it even MORE unknown than the ancient weapons.

The immature part of me chuckles every time you’ve typed Uranus. The scientist who named either ‘anus’ or the planet Uranus was an asshole (pun not intend but noted).

Oda usually finds a way to move the story forward in a way I usually can’t predict (which is a GREAT thing to me) so I wouldn’t put real stock in my theories, its more me ‘eliminating other theories’. I don’t think it’s an ancient weapon, and I think Doflo knows major info on the system for the fruits…between manufacturing them, and finding a way to get his hands on Ace’s fruit - and possible Law’s fruit, its too much to be ‘coincidences’.

Is it just me or does Corazon look bat shit crazy?

It’s just you.[/details]

He definitely looks more Joker than Jokert hough, dat face paint.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Oda does with a mute.

And again this episode reminds us what happened with the Sunny Go with Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Ceasar, Momosuke against Big Mom’s ship.

New chapter is out. Enjoy!

Damn… DAMN!

[details=Spoiler]Law’s childhood was FUCKED UP! I’m not going to lie, I got a little misty-eyed when I saw the dead parents, a corpse lying next to a cross symbolizing the loss of hope, and of course the burning hospital with his little sister in it. I’m surprised Law just didn’t off himself ages ago.

Oda making this chapter right around the Ebola epidemic, how topical…

It was nice seeing the younger versions of the current family though.[/details]

Sad Piece…

Good catch about Ebola.

  • Unreall

I lied when I said enjoy btw.

/feelz

I thought it was kind of funny that the family was telling this sad story while fucking up a whole town.

Excellent exposition by Oda. You got to understand their general modus operandi, while telling what would’ve been an isolated run-of-the-mill flashback.
