I would say out of the two main enemies he’s faced so far, he should of been shitting on them(Cesar and Hody).
Now the guys he’s been facing in Dressrosa? I don’t expect that. A lot of them are high level, experienced pirates.
Cipher Pol 0 has one main purpose, information gathering. They’re probably just relaying intel to their superiors… most likely Akainu or the Gorosei directly. I don’t think their job is to interfere unless instructed otherwise.
Pretty much. He’s one of the strongest single people on the island, yes. But only ONE OF them.
If anything, this arc is emphasizing how important it is to have a good crew. Doflo’s success is based on his team working well together, and they need a team effort to take him down.
Knowing this genre, I doubt Luffy will team up with anyone directly to take Doflamingo down, he will no doubt get help and I can see some poor sucker getting bodied before Luffy’s final fight but it wouldn’t do to have Luffy tag team son. Even with Moria, they still had Luffy more or less handle that monster on his own and finish the fight without help.
Sucks Sanji can’t get a piece of this action but with Zoro, Sabo, all the tournament pirates not name Jesus, Marines out the arse plus an admiral, I guess Oda felt the need to not have so many heavy hitters in one spot.
While he shouldn’t shit on everyone, there is validity to people who think he should.
Since the time skip, Luffy has been LEAGUES ahead of everyone he’s fought. I’m glad he’s sort of getting put in his place, but think about all we’ve seen since hte skip - its him looking like Goku. His ‘loss’ was some BS match-up. Even in THIS arc, he fought a dude who had a what 400 mill bounty, and beat his head ‘out’, undoing what Garp did.
We are talking someone who is a ‘child of destiny’ - he may not have a taqiled beast, but not only is he a D, check out his DIRECT lineage, the most feared man in the world is his father, and his grandfather could have been an admiral. Tack on that while yes he picked up haki to ‘catch-up’, he is so ‘natural’ with it that he pretty much mastered all 3 types in LESS than 2 years, and was left to train alone by the guy who can stop an admiral NOW, because he had nothing else to train him.
The Luffy hype train was pretty ‘real’. It’s GOOD that he gets sent back to earth a bit, but you got to be fair , he’s been written onto a pedestal that says he should be fighting the four Yonkous, not just Warlords.
Guys, I have a question. If any of you watch the anime and read the manga, which manga chapter would be episode 642, the recent episode that just came out? I wanna start reading from there. This Dressrosa arc is getting too good to just wait for one ep every week.
Side-note: Robin better get a one on one fight soon. She has such great amounts of potential but it’s not being put to use at all -_-
Like you said, most of Luffy’s “defeats” came the way of situational disadvantages or Logia fighters with nigh broken abilities. That’s what made the Rob Lucci fight so climactic, a true battle of skill and will.
Doflamingo will be a hundred times more formidable, because not only does he have an ability that exposes one of the Gomu Gomu no Mi’s major weaknesses (blades, sharp points) he also has Armament haki so Luffy can’t tank blows like he used to and bounce back (no pun intended). Versus Rob Lucci, apart from clawed shigans and a few cuts from partially dodged rankyakus, most of Luffy’s injuries came from accrued residual damage. Could you imagine what would’ve happened if Luffy got hit with a Sai Dai Rin Rokuougan without his organs being rubber?!
But the final and most vital part of what makes this showdown epic- Ambition. Unlike Luffy’s other main baddies, Doflamingo has manifested a very powerful will that allows him to use Haohshoku Haki. Meaning like Luffy, he’s not going down from anything that doesn’t put him in complete coma state… and even then he might still surprise us. We’re talking about a dude who shrugged off Aokiji’s Ice Time!
His ego is on a whole other level, and his wrathful nature means even if he can only move a finger he’ll try and do something sinister.
Yeah Luffy is certainly going to have the fight of his life this arc.
Oh and not to nitpick but Don Chinjao actually has a 500 MILLION beri bounty, which now is the highest active bounty shown thus far.
Speaking of Cipher Pol 0, I was having a funny thought the other day of how they would keep a psychological profile on the Strawhats if they acted like the CIA.
Monkey D. Luffy - ADHD, mild mental retardation
Roronoa Zoro - Dyslexia
Nami - Kleptomaniac
**Sanji **- Oedipus Complex, abandonment issues
Nico Robin - Aspergers Syndrome
Cutty “Franky” Flam - Body Dysmorphia, exhibitionist
It stems from the POV that the Marines previously only saw Chopper as a pet, and if the CP-O are supposed to be the best intel-gathering group of the World Government, they will be quick to realize he’s more than just simple pet, but they probably wouldn’t be able to discern anything more than this without actual interaction.
I wish a lot of you weeaboo bitches would use English instead of trying to sound otaku with Japanese.
Anyway, I’ve a couple of questions:
How long does it normally take for chapters to come out? I just caught up but noticed this guy takes a lot of breaks.
Is Mihawk a Devil Fruit user? I thought he wasn’t.
This whole Sabo thing. Am I the only one confused about it not being brought up years earlier and feels like it’s a last minute ass pull?
Chopper is easily the best, so why is he so weak even after mastering the demon form?
Sanji. I love that guy, but doesn’t it seem like he learned nothing from the transvestite dude? You’d think he would’ve trained under him instead of just running from a diddling.
Why has the crew not found a devil fruit in all of their travels? People always find them by chance, why not them? Nami could use one.
Kuma’s powers. Someone tell me why they are what they are. It makes no sense for paws to teleport you to the ends of the earth. My niece’s cat swings its paws at me but it doesn’t send my ass back to Brooklyn.
Chopper doesn’t know Haki, plus he’s a doctor foremost.
Oh he’s learned quite a few things… But he hasn’t really had a chance to shine when compared to Luffy and Zoro.
Even if they did none of the non-power crew would probably eat one since they like being able to swim (except Sanji, who said there was one fruit he would eat if he ever found it.)
As basic as I can make it, he can push anything he wants to almost wherever he wants.
Chapters should come out every week. But he does tend to take a week break every 3 weeks or so.
Waaay back Don Krieg got his ass kicked by Mihawk but thought that this may have been due to him possesing a devil fruit power. This could have been his impression after being completely outclassed, though it hasn’t been 100% confirmed. I’m defintley under the impression that he doesnt have a df.
I don’t feel like the brothers were an asspull. Luffy’s past was never really explored plus it also ties into why luffy waited until he was 17 before setting out to become a pirate.
Dat kung fu point though…
I’m actually not fully convinced that we’ve seen everything sanji has to offer. It may be possible that hes learned some new techniques but refuses to use them because he doesn’t want to use okama kenpo.
No idea…
I’m not sure where exactly the paws come from, but he has the ability to repel anything.
Every indication and assertion of Mihawk skills pretty much confirms that he’s not a devil fruit user. Oda has a significant track record of making a career swordsman’s skills essentially an special ability in itself.
It only seems “last minute” because it depends on the pacing of the reader; the flashback with the 3 “brothers” was quite in-depth in showing their developing bond, and Sabo’s fate was intentionally ambiguous.
Devil Fruits are more common on the Grand Line/ New World, but they are still very rare, which is why even the most bland Devil Fruit is still worth millions of beri. It only seems commonplace because “important” or “useful” people are more likely to possess the fruits than common folk. Same way sitting ringside at a boxing arena you’re more likely to encounter millionaires.*** **
Paws push against the ground in order to locomote, hence the ability’s power. Kuma’s mastery is at such a level that he can push things away at cosmic speeds or push out ephemeral things like “pain”.
