One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

I said this before, but Doflamingo’s gotta be the son of a Celestial Dragon with the kind of influence he has.

Throwing this out there.

Spoiler

Anyone else suspect Soldier-san is Rebecca’s legit father (may or may not be the son of the last King) that got turned into a toy? I mean her flashback had it heavily implied included dude’s overreaction that the kid that hurt her while playing and the one that later tried to give her a love note. Either way, when One Piece comes back for this next round, I suspect we will see what the future Queen does in battle along with how she fights “without hurting anyone” like Soldier-san taught her.

I get this feeling that despite everything, there is a chance that Doflamingo will walk after this arc is over, even if Oda dedicated a full 2-3 chapter to explain his origin and motivations, I just can’t see it ending how it looks like this arc is heading.

Toy Soldier is prob her dad. Doflamingo will walk off scott free with a Giant smile on his face.

Anyone notice that Rebecca’s mom died with a contented smile on her face? Hmm… strokes beard

It’s very likely that the soldier had close ties to the Royal Family and that the loss of his leg translates into an actual wound he got in the skirmish pre-transformation.

Also seeing Diamante’s face in the midst of the milieu strongly hints at him being the one with DF Toy power. The fact that transformation seems more or less permanent (Soldier-san has beeing a toy for over a decade now) means that whoever possess the ability has been around for a while and is strong enough to not get his ass beat and have the power revert. (Similar to Vander Decken).

Doflamingo and Crocodile are similar in that they’re ruthless and calculating, but that’s where the comparison ends (also explains why Dofla wanted Crocoboy on his team). Doflamingo is much stronger, possessing much more resources and knowledge, he’s like a suped up version of everything Crocodile want to be. His only weakness so far is that he’s underestimating Strawhat again, but he more reason to than most.

Rebecca being taught how to fight without hurting anyone give us a hint at what might happen on the battlefield, maybe some higher form of klutz judo? lol

Didn’t he lose it after he was turned into a toy? I could swear he lost it when he was protecting Rebecca from wolves.

Naw. He has his leg when protecting Rebecca and her mom at first, but then his leg is gone when he comes along with Rebecca’s mom’s body.

And yeah, he’s either her actual dad or someone else with a previous attachment to Rebecca’s mom.

Nope! That ain’t a smile, just blood.

I really hate the fact that Oda can play with my emotions like this…
I went from bitter sadness throughout the chapter into pure hatred & anger, ending with depression, because it’s on break next week.

The thing that has me thinking is why hasn’t Dragon “liberated” this country!??

“Captain Sama 5 hours ago
Portgas D. Scarlett ? I think Rebecca’s mother is the sister of Ace’s mother,Portgas D. Rouge because she looks quite exactly like her and she died the same way, smiling “protecting” her child so Rebecca is Ace’s cousin so Rebecca will get the Mera mera.
Done.”

From youtube. lol

Case closed.

Also, Luffy is aliens.

No, Usopp is aliens.

Luffy is the 3rd coming of the Messiah (aka Son Goku Reborn)

One piece was actually the distant future of DBZ the entire time. The D. are all saiyans. Blackbeard is a decendant of Gohan who has hercule genes

So the new nakama will be either Rebecca or Toy dude!

That’s some Batman logic right there!

Look at the 1st panel:

Anyways, the final story behind the Ds, the moon people and the Void Century is obviously far more complex and the lack of info leaves much to be answered.

Skypeians and Shandians have wings for example, are they of the same race? How do the Space Pirates fit into the story? Who or what drives the fate of the Ds?

Oh hey! Durp, missed that one.

Weird, though. I guess she wasn’t entirely dead, but died right in front of Rebecca. Can be interpreted as a “oh sweet my daughter’s safe after all” smile.

I am in a listing type of mood this Sunday so I am going to list things this last chapter has reminded me…

  • The previous King or his family had the name Riku and we have seen a older Gladiator called Ricky that knows Rebecca who is the grand daughter of the former King.
  • There is a statue in the Gladiator waiting room from 20 years ago about a undefeated gladiator no one remembers if he existed or not or how the statue got there.
  • Doflamingo has someone (or is able to himself) capable of messing with people’s minds to make them forget even their closest loved ones.
  • Law seems fucked because it certainly doesn’t look like anyone is on their way to help him and what the fuck was the point of his plan to begin with besides getting Dolfamingo to step down?

-Good find. I wouldn’t be surprised at the correlation, although it’s surprising that Doflamingo didn’t make sure he was dead.

-I haven’t been able to extrude anything from this part of the story as yet.

-At first I thought his “puppetry” might extend to that, but as you can see his powers only extend to physical manipulation, not mental. He only mindgames people to do his bidding. Baby 5’s character flaw is a perfect example.

-Seems Law is supposed to be the martyr to put the bullseye on Doflamingo’s back for Luffy. Once Luffy realizes Law’s situation he will be enraged.
