One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

John giant and ronse are dead. Dudes got there shit pushed way back. Whitebeard hits to kill

When the crew gets to fishman island, there is a good possibility that Luffy will see Jimbei again. Same goes with Hatchi, Cammy and that starfish guy(can’t remember the name).

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if my nig Jimbei is dead by the time they reach Fishman Island.

Do Flo probably put a hit out on him . Do Flo is the Cam’ron of One Piece. He got a crew full of dudes who think they shit when they can’t even battle half the cats out.

I still find it funny that the giants think they have a mere chance of even touching Whitebeard. Yo but that power is like S tier in the Devil fruit tiers.

Pappug interests me because there’s something I feel he’s hiding. Something is off about that starfish, save for the whole ā€œtalkingā€ thing.

That’s what true Gs do.

I wonder if they’ll make it Fishman island this week or will it be an exposition chapter where the Strawhats get acquainted with one another again whilst traveling?

Oda generally doesn’t do the latter but it would be interesting to see after 2 years.

How far more till Ace’s death in the anime?

Probably another 8 maybe 10 episodes depending on how they pace things. The rescue squad still hasn’t breached the main plaza yet.

There are a lot of unsolved mysteries in One Piece, but which one are you guys dying to know?

For me, it’s the Void Century. We know that the World Government was formed right after it, but I’m sure the Celestial Dragons were involved somehow. They probably ordered the Five Elder Stars to make it forbidden to research the Void Century.

In stories, I care more about boom boom BO#W potential than actual mysteries. There is nothing storyline wise in One Piece I’m z0mg over. I just want to see fighting shrug Shallow Will… :arazz:

Well it has been mentioned that the Celestial Dragons are the descendants of the kings responsible for destroying that great unnamed civilization. It’s obvious that they perceived this civilization to be huge threat and were either on the verge of a [peaceful] hegemony which caused them to lash out.

I believe the Ds are the remnants of that civilization and their middle initial is eponymous. This is why Jaguar is a D even though he is a giant, it was a melange of different but unified peoples who bear the same traits. I also believe they possessed great technological advancements which made them seem even more dangerous.

Fearing their demise, the dwellers of this lost civilization erected these invincible Poneglyphs to never be forgotten, and to keep record for future generations. Roger as a D himself, possessed the traits or lineage which allowed him not only to understand the glyph inscriptions offhand, but also to mark them, which shows that there is a lot more to the Ds than just their strength, hunger, and determination.

We haven’t even delved into the fact that there is a real ā€œDevilā€ in this series either.

Right I fogot about that, and Boa hasnt turned the PX’s into stone yet.

I learned something !:coffee:

actually one of the mysteries or things i never understood in onepiece is how everyone considers Gold Roger to be some sorta evil person. When they announced Ace was rogers son the people in saobody were screamin ā€œomg! will the terror never end?ā€ and things to that effect.

But judging by rayleigh, shanks etc… seems like roger was nothing but a belevolent (sp?) pirate who was just out to have some fun.

Anyone know what im talkin about? what did Gold Roger that was sooo evil that people hate him so much… that i never figured out.

Rayleigh outright states that Roger could not read the Poneglyphs, but could ā€œhear the voice of all thingsā€.

So that throws your theory a little out the window on the Roger related part.

Well the world government would portray him as a monster, like people who don’t know Luffy directly likely fear him now. That being said, he was known to slaughter entire armies for disrespecting his friends so he probably pissed a few people off.

Remember Squado? His beef with Ace was down to Roger annihilating his crew.

Um that’s precisely what I was saying, ā€œunderstand the glyph inscriptions offhandā€ He didn’t translate them like Robin could, it was an inherent understanding.

gunners has the point of Roger’s infamy down, he was just misunderstood and got himself into trouble, like most Ds do.

Roger is an odd one minute he seems to be a nice guy next it seemed he was handing out beatdowns like it was food for the homeless. All we know is he could be merciless sometimes and nice at others. Ask Squad and Shiki what they think about Roger and then ask Rayleigh ,Shanks and Whitebeard. You would probably get some interesting comments.

Roger was a pirate…that alone makes the masses think he’s evil.

But thats not what you said at all. There is no indication that he ā€˜possessed traits or lineage which allowed him to’ ā€˜understand the glyph inscriptions offhand’ or ā€˜mark them’. For all you know, this could have been a devil’s fruit ability (the ability to hear the voice of all things), or related to some kind of haki. The closest thing we’ve seen so far is Zoro being able to hear the breath of certain substances in order to cut them.

I think your assumption here is way off base.

Kenbunshoku Haki Can actually allow you to hear things . I think
