Yeah, it seems like it’s going to be a longer arc since Oda’s been building up the scale for a few chapters already. I definitely wouldn’t mind a longer arc since both the fishmen and punk hazard arcs were relatively short and a bit underwhelming in terms of villains. I’m hoping this arc will set the precedence of why the New World is feared.

This arc’s getting War Of The Best syndrome. Crazy amount of characters, the majority of them new, crazy amount of stuff going on at once. This is one I’ll have to go back and reread back to back once it’s done… I WOULD complain about all the setup going on at once if it wasn’t for the fact that I know it works when read in bigger chunks

Funny thing is, Oda set this up at the end of Punk Hazard. We knew the Marines were going to get involved… The surprise is just how much power’s being tossed around at once. Look at Fujitora’s remark. This is likely to blow up, one way or another, and that’s gonna be fun to watch.

Also, bearded Zoro has the best WTF face.

Kaido possibly being a lion makes me think of

4kids sucks. I remembered watching One PIece on T.V with the English dubs back in the day when it was still being aired. The intro song was great though.

Also, if you’re a One Piece nazi like myself you’ll watch every episode (including the fillers) and read the manga as well. However, if you don’t want to do that, you’ll still need to watch a bit more then 95 episodes to be caught up after the timeskip.

The first time I saw one piece was on 4kids, I learned about it way back on VGcats.
Hated the fuck out of it.
Wasn’t until 2010 I gave it another shot. Hated it up until i realized i was watching filler.
Found the non filler episodes.
Cried my eyes out, nose running, stomach hurting, pausing the vids.

I hope Admiral Fujitora has a sword. Fuckin Auron casting Demi everywhere.

While I disliked the mass-introductions of last chapter, this chapter was 9000 times better, it introduced us to several characters/groups, made confirmations, showed power levels, AND moved the story along. THIS is what last chapter shoudl have been. Even though its typically better to read OP in chunks, it doesn’t mean the single pieces have to be inedible.

I’m liking all the new introductions. Fujitora with that Blind Justice just as expected.

CP-0 looks maaad serious. They’re the strongest Chipher Pol division and considering how powerful Vergo was we might be seeing more advanced techniques that make Rokuougan look like nothing!

I’m interested in seeing if Jesus finally knows haki at this point, otherwise he seems pretty much jobber status for Luffy still. Ace easily owned him back on Banaro and Garp put him in his place with his fist.

I’m really liking Robin’s and Law’s alts…

Momo seems to have found his “One Piece” much to chagrin of the [human] male crew…

I also love the sheer depth of this Arc, it’s shaping out to be amazing. For the first time since the timeskip things are seemingly becoming more serious (as opposed to the free Hordy and Caesar).

So many different sub-plots are being put into place and Oda is introducing some pretty big names as well.

I felt like Oda was doing a callback to that with Hordy and Ceaser being so easy… Although you have to remember that although Luffy never took a serious hit from an enemy till he faced Kuro (Or Buggy, can’t remember if he scratched him,) he got bit by Hordy and knocked out by Caesar.

Speaking of Kuro, he needs to make a comeback.

This made me re-read like the first ten chapters. He did own people for free early on…being a rubberman was like virtually god mode. Things have gone a long way from there though…Shanks didn’t look ANYWHERE near as ‘godly’…though he did hit a seamonster with haki. His crew in fact looked…less menacing…granted some of that is just Oda’s drawing style evolving. Something that caught my eye though…Luffy specifically called out ‘10’ crew members…and Oda’s done a good job foreshadowing stuff like that. right now he has 7 that I can think of, with a ‘future’ 8 in Jimbei…so I’d wager he’s getting two more crew members. hmm rubs chin
