Granted, he doesn’t have extensive knowledge of ALL his tricks, come to think of it. But he definitely fought alongside him for a good while in Alabasta. But there’s a point… He doesn’t know ALL possible firefruit moves.<br><br>Then again, neither would someone new to the fruit.<br>

?.? I dunno about the anime, but in the Manga it’s<br><br>Luffy runs away from Smoker<br>→ Ace saves him and says “Go ahead, I’ll catch up”<br>→ Luffy runs away after seeing nothing<br>
In the Manga Ace saves Luffy with a fire attack that collides with Smoker’s attack. He then tells Luffy to go on ahead and that he’ll catch up later. Thus, saving him from Smoker.<div><br></div><div>In the Anime however, there is a filler arc where Ace tags along with the Straw Hat’s for a while. I can’t exactly remember the acute details, but there was supposedly some bounty hunter who attempted to take Ace’s head. He failed, everyone became friends, the bounty hunter had a son or something, typical filler arc stuff, etc.</div><div><br></div><div>So yes, in the Anime Luffy actually did get to see Ace fight for a little bit.</div>
As far as the whole devil fruit thing is concerned, to my knowledge there can only be one if any given ability at one time. When the user dies a fruit with their ability will grow again somewhere. That’s how they can have catalogs of what abilities certain fruits will have.
Someone with the reach of Donflo could probably get his hands on a specific fruit somewhere out there by means of his network.
Also I don’t think there’s an actual devil in the fruits since they can be artificially created.
Dolfy is a genius for that one if u ask me simply because Luffy is an idiot who cant think logically or control his emotions. So he’s gonna come running when he find out that somebody has his brother’s old ability and then will proceed to get his ass handed to him. The question is will Law bail him out or not.

Yeah, Luffy may be ‘unique’ in his thinking patterns and behavior, but he is certainly not an idiot. He may be carefree and somewhat reckless, but everything he does has a reasoning behind it, and he has proven that he has a greater understanding of the world at large and how his actions affect others.<div><br></div><div>Besides I don’t think anyone other than Luffy could have developed a seemingly run-of-the-mill power like the Gomu Gomu no Mi into such an effective and imaginative fighting style… Give that power to anyone else in OP, and they probably die namelessly in East Blue to someone like Don Krieg or something…</div>
Nah he’s just kinda dumb. It’s common for shonen protagonists to not be all that bright outside of fighting. They’ll have one of their supporting characters that can take care of the heavy thinking while the just take care of beating all the big bad guys.
The only one I can think of that tries to break the mold is Ichigo. He actually manages to have good grades. Though when it comes to his role in the story he just Getsugas till it works.

Actually, I think it’s a bit more than that. Remember all the stuff he did during the Marineford arc? He gained a lot of followers.
Former Member Of the Roger Pirates, Friends with Shanks, all the Prisoners that have his back and All he did During the Impel Down/Marineford arc are good enough reason for the WG and Marines to have him as a Shichibukai!

lol Buggy being a Shichibukai, that was a definite given. His
affiliations and renowned fame due to his blind following has done him
well. <br><br>I still strongly believe that Devil Fruits are created from “Devils” or entities defined as such, due to a lack of general understanding aka the “Void Century”. Blackbeard already mentioned that his power is different because his fruit came from “The Devil Himself!” which is a definite hint. Also the fact that they regenerate upon death means that Blackbeard must’ve siphoned “the essence” out of the Whitebeard’s corpse (no homo?) because the fruit itself probably had to regrow somewhere hidden like Raftel or wherever…<br><br>I can relate to Law’s utter frustration.
