Why? Hes stronger than both of them
Iâm still laughing when he shot a finger laser destroying Luffyâs key to free Ace with a goofy-ass expression and not just blasting a beam through Luffyâs skull.
âI want to see you fall into despair before you die boy!â (Not actual quote)
What a trollâŚ

Itâs sort of like a trait that Kizaru possesses where he comments on how scary his opponent is, regardless of whether or not he can actually beat them.
During the marineford war he comments on how scary Luffy is, even though he was completely out of Luffyâs league in terms of strength and could have easily beaten him.
He also does the same thing with the Supernovaâs at Sabaody where he states that the Supernovaâs (in this case he was talking to Hawkins) were all monsterâs, and that they were pretty scary. Even though he completely outclassed them in terms of strength.
Itâs kinda like a little running gag that fits with his âtrollishâ attitude.
I was thinking he was just a hazy-minded goofball, but then I remembered him holding Zoro down and outright taunting the other SHs with the fact that he was going to kill him. Yep, dudeâs a sadistic troll, in it for the fun.
Well, his motto is âunclear justiceâ so that does fit with the notion that he is âhazy-mindedâ.
Fortunately for the pirate world Kizaruâs âpurple hazeâ personality keeps his broken ability from wrecking all of them. Cuz we all know pretty much anyone who remotely looked like a pirate within a 186,000 mile radius would be dead in a second if Sakazuki had the Pika Pika no Mi, sans the One-Percenters.
Dude would be snorting lines of coke and working triple shifts to make sure Errybody Got Shot.
Because he says that to almost everyone⌠before he obliterates them.
wouldnât be surprised if the DF had that side effect on Kizaru. Its just too coincidental.
Considering the fact that he looked the same even as a kid I honestly doubt that itâs the cause of his DF. Unless, of course, he had already eaten such a powerful logia DF at such a young age.
Heâs definitely my favorite admiral.
Canât wait until heâs forced to fight seriously though, Iâm sure weâll get to see a whole different side to him.
Flymike inspired me to watch the anime only read the manga. Just finished Arlong realized Luffy not for one min took Arlong seriously in my opinion dude got clowned on. Only real trouble Luffy was in was caused by his damn self lol. Pretty damn sure a 100% Zoro bodies Arlong free he was still hurt from Mihawk. Don Krieg was a tougher fight for Luffy than Arlong IMO.
Youâll see later on that Arlong is nothing more than a bully. Whenever he tries to step up to someone stronger, he gets peaced out rather quickly.
Interesting insight, but Luffy definitely was taking the fight seriously; especially after finding out what Arlong did to Nami. Heâs just naturally clumsy and made a silly mistake which was most likely enforced by the fact that he wanted to kick Arlongâs ass so badly.
Well, to be fair to ArlongâŚ
Spoiler
People like Kizaru and Jinbe are way out of his league.
Yes, I agree that Luffy was fighting seriously for Nami. Arlong was just never a real threat to Luffy thatâs all. Don Krieg at least looked like he could win at certain points in the fight hell if it wasnât for Gin Don would have won with his poison gas.
Well, they were both threats. No threat is someone like Bellamy. You could argue that in both fights Luffy received help. He received help from Gin obviously when fighting Krieg, and from Sanji + a few others when fighting Arlong.
At that time, Zoro could not beat Arlong with or without his injuries from Mihawk (though I do agree that he probably could have done better without them).
God I forgot about Bellamy who probably has one of the stupidest DFs ever.
I liked Don Krieg. I think he was the first truly heartless asshole villain in OP. All his weapons reminded me of Cable.
I still say Arlong ranks as one of the weakest in OP. I canât really think of anyone pre-new world that he would have stood a chance against with the exception of Buggy and his crew, however the clown did come the closest to actually killing Luffy until he was interrupted by an act of God, aka: Luffyâs dad.
I will say that he has one of the best laughs in One Piece⌠and it was funny when Luffy imitated it.
You canât defend Arlong as a threat at all.
After seeing his entire history Iâve come to the conclusion that the brother seemed to be the Usopp of Fisher Tigerâs crew except he never leveled up. Hence why he was in the weakest of all the 4 oceans and after over a decade could still only barely control only a small island and that was WITH bribing the government to not look his way.
At least Don Krieg managed to build a fleet of some reputation and try his hand at the Grand Line, Arlong was coasting on superior genetics like a C or D list professional sports player. Plenty of talent and probably a Fantasy stats stud but lacks the drive and intelligence to ever come close to getting a ring or being a Hall of Fame player.
Bellamy was extremely free. Inferior to Luffy, in a sense. One of the weaker enemies in the series was definitely Wapol as well.
Well, one could argue that the Mountain Bandit Boss (Higuma), Alvida, and Captain Morgan came first. Though, Morgan was probably the biggest heartless asshole of them all. Beatâs the crap out of his own his son, kills his own men, dictator-ish attire, tries to execute Zoro, tells someone to kill a little girl, etc.
Dragonâs interference in Luffyâs execution had got to be one of the coolest things in the beginning Arcâs of OP. When Luffy smiled while his head was about to be chopped off I remember the goosebumps I had gotten at the time (and this was around 2006). Shit was epic.
The entire Loguetown Arc was really great. Easily one of the best in the series in my opinion, regardless of how short it was.
He was a threat to Luffy and his crew. At the time.
Kinda seems like Aokiji. Iâm wondering the panel on the right is his eye coverer on the last page in the latest chapter.
Apparently, SRKFADC and I share the same theory that Zoro at full-health could have taken down Arlong. The thing with Luffy is that as much as he wanted to kick Arlongâs ass, he still couldnât resist trying some hair-brained shit because thatâs just the kind of guy he is. Also, Arlong wasnât fighting seriously either, he was far too arrogant about the superiority of fishmen for his own good.
