The translations differ a bit
 Not sure if SAD is a component in Smile, or something else.

Given the punny nature of the two things, I’m starting to think that SAD may be something that takes the (artificial) devil fruit OUT of someone’s body. So an army of artificial-devil-fruit users + SAD gas = army of people who can no longer rely on their transformations.

All that build up with Doflamingo talking shit over the snail about how Vergo traumatized Law went out the window and CC is getting beat the shit out of him by Luffy. I am seriously expecting some of those dudes Doflamingo sent to be the legit final battles of this arc because short of Vergo literally having a DF power that can restore him, I can’t see either him or CC being up to a climatic battle.
