One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

It seems like Kidd might Run into Luffy sooner than later. I find tomatoes design very interesting I see hints of robotnik yet I see various little villains from comics and cartoon of the past .Cant wait to here Ida’s explanation for this

Well we know something is bound to happen between them sooner or later, butI really REALLY want Doflamingo to be the next villain.

Luffy is the best SJ main character of all time. Discuss.

Tamago, not tomato. The word means “egg” which is why he’s shaped like one.

(Doflamingo I see being a villain early on in the new world, but not quite yet. It could happen sooner than later, though, since the talk about the Navy makes me think we’ll see them again and find out that Buggy made into the Shichibukai.)

Yeah, Big Mom not being a “looker” was completely obvious from the get-go, which makes Sanji’s delusion all the funnier, especially since she’s not an okama, so that’s a possibility that he still won’t be able to hit her at all. Maybe. I’m pretty sure he still counts ugly women as women.

Oh, I’m aware of that.

Also, with regards to spoilers, you’re right in both accounts. I had thought that Big Mom’s men were intending on taking the treasure anyway due to what she said about not compromising and Tamago/Tomato likely still having a point about needing money after their run in with Kidd; nice to see mention one of the Supernovas already. Regardless, I still accept something to happen to it before Nami can get her still-avaricious hands on it.

Haha, funny you say that. Because I was actually think of C. S. Lewis with regards to Pekoms. Maybe because *Narnia *movies keep coming on Syfy even if I don’t watch them.

Then again, Buggy is already Jesus, so I guess that wouldn’t fit.

This kinda assumes that Lola is still alive, which I think is possible, but not necessarily guaranteed, especially if your theory pans out.

Also, I don’t think Big Mom will necessarily give a shit about the Vivre Card. It might prevent her from outright killing Luffy and crew if she remains stronger than them when they meet, if only to probably to make them look for Lola or something.

Kinda have to wonder what her Devil Fruit could be if she has one considering Wapol has the obvious eating one already.

Longlegs are new? I could have sworn one or two of them had seen them before.

Then again, that might just be because so many people in *One Piece *are so damn tall, which is why I don’t think anyone’s really talking about Tamago’s race or height.

I’m aware of that since tomato is pretty much the same thing in Japanese. Calling him tomato was just a jest because for some reason, I can’t help but picture his eggshell part of his pants as red instead of the off-white it probably is.

I love it when Luffy act or say things without giving a shit about the consequences.

Last time I got this “OOOOOH SHIT!!!” feeling was when he punched the Tenryuubito

Yes I was wondering that too, but her power seems to be concentrated on digestion rather than solely eating. The acidic saliva gives a hint of the source of her avarice.

All she needs now is this:

The crazy thing is that I created a foe in my story similar to her which only makes me wonder if I’m either making delusional parallels or the art of storymaking makes it impossible to avoid certain cliches.

sigh

And before that was when he got sogeking to burn the marine flag. Luffy da bess.

(I still could have sworn that we’ve meant a “Longlegs” person before this, but then I doubt Oda would point it out. I think I’m just getting confused by Apoo’s tribe of double-elbowed, long-armed people.)

Since d3v mentioned it, I suppose I should mention that for some reason I can’t help but thinking that Baron Robotnik is drinking tomato juice/soup instead of what’s doubtless coffee. I think it’s because allergies are acting up more than usual…even though I rarely have consumed tomato soup, even when that’s happened. [/useless information]

Heh. I suppose. I mean it’s not like it’s possible to have two similar fruits given we’ve at least seen a few similar ones already with just the Paramecia “family” like Buggy and Very Good’s fruits. So while Wapol’s fruit focuses on eating for the sake of integration/building, perhaps Big Mom’s fruit focuses on eating for the sake of pure hedonistic gluttony, complete with FMA-style acid. It wouldn’t be the first fruit to represent one of the Seven Deadly Sins either considering Boa’s fruit is basically Lust manipulation.

Wonder if this means there’s a fruit that gives you Fuhrer Bradley’s eyes…

It’s almost definitely the latter since nothing is really original and you seem to be able to glean quite a few of Oda’s ideas in advance, so you thinking alike wouldn’t be that surprising.

That’s what I was thinking as well. If one can never be full, why stop eating?

Akainu already represented Wrath to me, albeit far less cooler (no pun intended) but the idea of a fruit based entirely on Fury is pretty awesome.

Random Thought?

Awakened Zoans, I wonder if they were ever humans? It would be interesting if animals of the same species were given Zoan class fruits of the same model/species to reinforce their animalistic nature. Crazy stuff.

I think that’s one of the reasons that had me fascinated and addicted to One Piece. It’s almost like Oda hits upon everything I like about stories and the visual medium (not in terms of style but environmental scope, although I did grow to love his art style).

Even though I finished my story before I read One Piece, I’ve noticed a lot of eerie coincidences in the handling of speciation and certain events. Fishman Island being the most notable. I like it and hate it at the same time.

(Firefox doesn’t think “opposable” is a word? The fuck?)

Needlessly long-winded post dead ahead, Captain! Permission to bore you to death, sir!

Possibly. Thing is, though, that Wapol’s fruit has the same gnawing hungry–pun not intended–already too. So that would only further that the similarity “problem”.

Well, it’s not like Wrath needs to be frothing at the mouth angry, it just needs to be precise and utter in its destruction of its target(s), which Akainu…isn’t arguably. Ironically, Akainu probably has the fruit that could do the most good in kinder hands since his is basically the only fruit thus far that could probably create something lasting, in this case whole islands, that could benefit people/not be used as an attack. Too bad that Sakazuki (?) got it…

But, yeah, it would be interesting to see if there was a fruit based on Fury depending on how it was embodied or represented. I say that even though it’s possible that it would be just eyes that track movement, which we’ve already seen (in other manga)…but without the innate reflexes to help one to counter such movement; that’s likely to be limitation that would be overcome in the New World, but it still would be intriguing to deal with.

It’s possible, but I find it rather unlikely, partly because I doubt that the “perfect” embodiment of animals would become bipedal, bloodthirsty monsters with opposable thumbs; even the predatory animals likely wouldn’t become bipedal with opposable thumbs even if it’s possible that they would become more bloodthirsty as part of their “perfection” or whatever the equivalent of animal “enlightenment” would be.

Similarly, even though I’m sure that at least some of the Impel Down staff knows about Haki, I highly doubt they’d take the chance of empowering animals that don’t already understand human language to begin with, especially with how (relatively) weak Sadi-chan seemed to be and how many other monsters they had/have to deal with. There’s nothing that seems to indicate that Haki allows one to be understood by animals anyway, merely to manipulate them. After all, powers that have focused on understanding/actual communication like Rogers and Shirahoshi’s/Poseidon’s have been made a big deal; Surume doesn’t really count because it/he obviously understand human language, probably because octopi are pretty damn smart to begin with (as human-centric as that sounds) like in real life.

Anyway, it seems more likely that Awakened Zoans are merely human Zoans who have awakened the animal side of their fruit and given into that side completely for the power of extra-healing at the cost their humanity/higher thought processes; basically, they’re like werewolves that willingly became monsters. The "Mino-"prefix seems to point towards that and it would honestly be more poignant than them being mere animals buffed up by Devil Fruitagen.

That’s understandable.

I think you guys are thinking too much into things if there’s Fishman and Mermaids why can’t there be other humaniod animals ?

Okay what if they have big head giants like a giant who is essentially a big ass head.We have seen some long leg humans what about big head giants

Two things I thought about since reading the chapter.

1.) I almost think the two Big Mom subordinates we were introduced will change sides before all is said and done. They were too humorous and distincive, maybe a cover side story. But then again, I am sucker for the funny bad guys. When they are funny… fuck that bitch ass Fukuro.

2.) Have we ever seen a acid acid fruit? Magellan’s poison somewhat doubled as it with his uses but could old girls be a paramecia as well more along the lines of Mr. 5?

He’s dumb but not too dumb, his power and fighting style is interesting without being broken or requiring bullshit to make villains menancing and he has one of the strongest supporting casts and environment to mess around in since Hunter x Hunter but with less delays. Sales already prove that he is tops so far.

I never like to say anything is the greatest of all time. But so far, Luffy ain’t that far off compared to his peers.

Do Logia types count?

What kind of Logias are you talking about?

Logias are shit like elements ,environments ,fire, light etc more are less forces of nature

Paramecias are interesting because it seems like some are artificially created but many are materials,or oddly in whiteboards case an element.Paramecias are the weakest because it can’t make a weak person strong and you are still flesh n blood.

Zoans you become another animal, either mystical or real.

I think animals can learn sentinence in op based on how much they hang around humans .

Zoans are strong because they give a person the ability

Whats that?

Red lantern ring they constantly vomit blood because their blood literally boiled from rage . Like they can use it as a projectile

No, that’s an Orange lantern ring. Orange represents avarice in the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.
