One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

I’m confused between the two translations, mangareader makes it sounds like he still needs the bal lfor one transformation - while mangastream has it at ‘all’.

Chapter was pretty nice. However - Luffy was just pretty Boss, no otherwords describe how he approached Hodi.

And my gawd they are fuccin the Fish Piratess up. They better man up on those steriods or something…NOW.

Mangastream has him needing it for one transformation. Maybe you misread “at will” as “at all.”

Bamboo Javelin seems pretty obvious. he shoots seeds at their feet and bamboo grows up instantly striking them from beneath.

Didn’t see. Where’s Brooke?

Luffy did Yoga Teleport to get in past Hodi’s assist spam and wreck face.

Agreed. It’s really too bad that the Fishmen look like they are the scrub tier of the Op universe with the exception of Jimbei who is probably the Bruce Lee of the Fishmen.
I know the Strawhats are badass and all, but wrecking 100,000 Fishmen with no effort?? Come on… not a good look for our fishy bros.

So we not gonna talk about how they just revealed Pluton.>:(

WHAT IS FEAR?:bluu:

It’s cool how Chopper has “that form” on reserve.

I wonder what Poseidon meant by “The day it needs to come”, could he mean the descendant of the lost civilization from which is originated? Something interesting is afoot.

I’m starting to think the only guy who will present a remote challenge to the crew will be Hyouzou, and he’s only doing this for the money.**
**

speaking of missing people what happened to that pirate with the mud ability or whatevea, became a captivite on straw hats ship before they reached the the water city(forgot name)

Oda has specific plans for him that will unfold in the coming chapters.

I’m kind of disappointed on how they changed the look of Chopper’s Horn Point. How it was before looked more badass, it kind of looks silly now.

after fishman island get destroyed, they’re going to use his mud ability to rebuild fishman island :clapdos:

I’m pretty sure that the rest of the Supernova’s will be to the task as they were already leaps and bounds above the SH. Factor in their NW experience - and yeah…this arc was made for me…those people who wanted to see the ‘New’ SH actually own up like they should for once instead of barely getting by. Those of us who cheered when Vegita didn’t hold back from punching the strength measurer in DBZ. Next arc we will see the SH fall back in line when they bump into a real ‘player’ on the market.

I wonder if Enes will ever come back…ninja was SO broke.

  • :bluu:

You talking about Enel? He’s on the fucking MOON.

Yeah - Enel. I knew he was on the moon, didn’t realize ALL that happend.

  • :bluu:

Lol me either until you brought it up. I went and wiki’d that shit like wtf DID happen to him? Never realized they made a whole side story bout the guy. No clue how the hell I missed that.

Just caught up to Chapter 636, and SHs are going all Makoto SA2 on them Fishmen XD.

BTW did Mangastream’s scanlation skip a page? One page has them taking down Hodi’s men, then the next a ship pops out, I’m certain there had to be a page that leads to the ship showing up.

Also, anyone else think the ship belongs to Big Ma’am?

No I think the pages are right, it’s just kinda abrupt. And I think that ship is one of the weapons Pluton or Poseidon.

Zorro’s “Im thinking hard about this” face at the end of the previous episode with the zoom in is priceless. Definitely worth a view for anyone who hasnt seen it.

Oh snap, I gotta watch the anime again. Are they on fillers right now? The last episode I watched was when Shanks appeared after the big battle. at Marine HQ.

(Yeah, I don’t know where Brooke went. I figure I might have missed something, though, considering I read it right before I have to leave to go somewhere. I’ll try to read last chapter when the next one comes out.)

Haha. I can’t get over the fact that Oda keeps making Hodi more and more of an asshole despite the fact that Hodi is getting effortlessly beasted on. He’s like a fishman version of Crocodile, only infinitely less smooth and competent.

Also, I can’t decide whether I like the “Without Fear” panel where Zoro and Sanji get Luffy’s back or the panel where Luffy kicks Hodi in the face after disappearing more. If Luffy has Gear Two speed without needing to be in Gear Two or Gear Two without any start-up, then he’s going to be even more ridiculous than he already looks to be, especially if it’s the former.

pictures Gear Two Luffy breaking the sound barrier if the former is the case

Last we saw him, he was in the Fishman District, getting his Sephiroth on by touching that huge-ass ship and sending it at Shirahoshi.

He’s probably off-island to make sure that it destroys Fishman Island when it kills her.

I’m really not convinced that ship is Pluton considering how open to the public, relatively speaking, Fishman Island seems to be. There’s no way in hell the World Government wouldn’t have been all over Fishman Island if such an ancient weapon of such supposedly great power was just…sitting there in relatively plain sight, especially with two different Yonkou having “sponsored” the island. They have enough to worry about with regards to the Yonkou as it is. One of them getting the supposedly immensely-destructive weapons of the Void Century would be…bad, if one was to use supreme understatements.

They’re not all Fishmen. A lot of those people are humans slaves that Hodi and Van Der Decken were holding captive. In fact, I’d argue that even if the Fishmen are getting their ass-kicked, the sheer fact that they a lot of them were still standing after Luffy went Conqueror Mode on everything without knowing what the hell Haki is shows they’re not that weak at all. They’re still only mooks, though, regardless of race, which means they’ll get beasted on by the Straw Hats, especially since most of them are cocky bastards who are underestimating them just because of the numbers and because they’re human.

You know they’re getting stomped on when Nami, of all people, beasts someone close-up without effort.

If anything, the fact that it was mostly slaves that got instantly knocked out is a small mercy to them since it means that they don’t get their shit stomped by Luffy and co. anyway.

Lol, “Poseidon”. Someone’s mixing mythology again. What Neptune said might be related to one of Madame Shirley’s prophecies or something else that’s older than that. It’s probably something relates to the island getting destroyed regardless, though.

Also, yeah, Hyouzou will probably be the only real threat in the battle sans Hodi taking even more steroids (and then probably keeling over even if Luffy doesn’t still beat the shit out of him). He’s the only named character on Hodi’s side besides Zeo we haven’t seen getting beasted yet and he’s been conspicuously absent. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he slaughtered some of his own allies in his drunkenness and then slunk away once he sobered up & realized he wasn’t getting paid after sparring with Zoro a bit.

“I’m not getting paid for this? Damn it. I need a drink.”

It would be interesting to see a swordsman who is more of a pragmatic mercenary than anything else rather than interested in getting stronger or fighting to improve himself. For a world full of pirates, there’s very few people we’ve seen who make their living as bounty hunters (who are strong enough to not get killed by early-game Zoro). Maybe that will change in the new world with one or two notable characters.

Yeah, all of the Supernovas are probably stronger (if they’re still alive) sans maybe Jewelry. She’s probably still a captive of the government considering it was Akainu himself that captured her.

As for Enel, meh. I openly wondered if he might show up again eventually just because, yeah, his powers are broken, even if he’s horribly incompetent with them–I can only shudder to think what would they could do in the hands of someone competent. However, I kinda agree with White Shadow’s response from back then that it’s probably better if he stays gone.

Caribou was last seen showing interest in Shirahoshi, IIRC, since he figured she’d fetch an even larger price due to her sheer size than the premium that the three mermaids still trapped in side of him will bring. That was like a dozen or so chapters ago, though.

Enel going to the moon was a cover story.

Heh Damned, are you forgetting that “Poseidon” is also one of the names of the world-destroying ships of lore? I don’t think the ark Noah is Pluton either.

Still King Neptune knows something important, I hope he reveals it this week.
