One particular input terminology - CS?

when reading a combo, more than once in regards to some of decapres combos, I keep seeing something like- “cs.:LP > cr.:HP > cr.:LK”.

What does the “CS” for the first lp command represent?

some other decap combos that I see this cs in are

cr.lk> CS.lp> cr.mk> xx hands or bf lk lk

CS.lp > u2

cr.lk> CS.lp> cr.HK

etc etc…

I’ve sifted through quite a few terminology references including the ones here at the srk forums and can find no record of this term cs. I understand something like sc would mean standing close, but I don’t imagine cs stands for a dyslexic close standing… anyone care to shed some light?

also… its Friday. hooray.

and double also, sorry if this question is dumb. I’m new. hi.

Close Standing. Some characters have normals that only appear when they are at a certain proximity to the opponent. If you need that normal for the combo, CS is used as opposed to regular c which denotes crouching.

Wait, where did you see SC for Standing Close? Don’t think I’ve ever seen that written in combo notation; but you are using some unholy combination of SF and anime notation so may be because of that.

cs = close standing.

rose has a few combos that use close standing mk.

seth also has a couple that start with a close standing normal attack.

I like:
st. = far standing, standing
cl. = close standing
cr. = crouching
