Whatever, there are lots of icons throughout —human— history who are black (and other races). But white people have great credit, Hispanics hang out at Home Depot, blacks rob white women, Asians are asexual experts at math and samurai honor, Mid-Easterners make a ticking sound, etc. Is it really individuals perpetuating, propagandizing those stereotypes? Do people just see what they want to see no matter what?

Nobody gonna come at this from a minor’s rights/kid lib perspective? For me it comes down to this. As soon as the girl said that she was not being held against her will, the police had a moral obligation to fuck the hell off.
The thing is, unlike ideological/religious groups like say feminists or Muslims that adhere to a specific doctrine and mindset, no person of any race should have to make it their job to govern over another’s asinine actions. No one chose to exist with the arbitrary level of melanin they were born with, or can control the society that prejudges them for their aesthetics. The best way to combat the perpetuation of negative stereotypes is to simply live your life with decency and integrity, and promote those ideals with your actions (esp. if you’re a parent). Unfortunately, the issue at hand shows that even when black law-abiding citizens show legal documentation and verification from a parent, the law still impresses extremely biased judgment.
It’s quite scary living life knowing that you can become a statistic just based on your skin color and nothing else. I mean we treat it as a “Chappellian” tragic comedy (“Oh the racism is killin’ me inside!”), but it’s really tragic knowing that minorities are literally one misunderstanding or knee-jerk prejudicial judgment from a jail cell, or worse…

The really affluent areas in Houston are troublesome because the cops there have literally nothing to do and will cause you trouble and they need to pull over people to get paid. Not being white is cause for suspicion.
Real talk: those cops just didn’t like seeing a pretty little white girl with two black guys. That’s all it is, and everything else were just pretexts.
I know that. what I’m trying to get at is that the black community needs to encourage and motivate its young to stop listening to that gucci mayne trap music that celabrates thug lyfe nonsense and then go on and emulate it in real life.
granted blacks have it harder because it doesn’t matter what they wear. being black automaticcally puts you in a special risk category accordu ng to police and others.
They were just detain for a few hours & then release…Seriously as a parent im going to raise an eyebrow in this, my 13year old daughter not related w/ 2 adult males 3am at night? Come on man…Officers did what they had to do. Even with the paper work & confirming w/ the dumb mom they had to make sure it all checked out. The 2 adult males who were the guardian should have known better then to be out in the middle of night w/ an underage white girl. They are lucky they weren’t shot or beaten.

Rcaido does make a point, however, it is impossible for us to know whether the cops’ intentions were out of ill will or out of due diligence. What we do know is how the cops handled a certain situation, and in this case, they were in the definite wrong.
Trying to save the poor white girl from getting raped by savages isn’t due diligence my strange friend…
2 guys with an underaged girl at 3 in the morning definitely looks suspicious, but after they saw all the papers, and heard from the mother that she knew these 2 personally and allowed this they should have just let them all go.
