It’s a viable punish but the catch is spacing. You don’t necessarily have to dash under to punish him with it. I would think dashing under him to do it would mean his dive kicks were just that predictable but if it worked for you good shit.
I guess I have fought Wolverine(his as well) so much lately that it is a normal response whenever I think a divekick is coming. I guess it is just that it seemed most successful dashing under. I may have caught him without it as well but I can’t really remember doing it too many times.
Hey there is nothing wrong with that. As a matter of fact it’s a cold crossup. He’s committing to a move pushing forward in his offense and you cross him up and punish for it while he’s off guard not prepared for the mixup. I call it a good read.
Wolverine’s dive kick is very punishable, but strong Wolverine players will almost always protect their dive kick with an assist.

Also I went to a tourney today in Denver. I placed 5th out of 32 entrants. I even beat one of Denver’s strongest players on livestream, I lost to IFS Justin(My buddy that plays Wolverine who is also from Colorado Springs.) and a player called BigD. He used Dante/Dorm/Doom. I lost out to the zoning stuff. How do you guys deal with it? Also I will try to get the videos of when I was on the livestream.
I know BigD him and I used to run MvC2 against each other. I see he’s still playing. You know I think when I get back I’ll try to run back through Denver. Denver and other parts of Colorado use to come down to my tournaments in New Mexico years ago. I think some of them still do, you should travel to some of them sometime. I can almost guarantee you that playing Spidey vs New Mexico will be fun for you. By fun I mean, tell them I said “hi” after pouncing on their faces :lol:

I’m having trouble here was is the “timing” for landing a crossup AD into web throw after you OTG someone with Dooms missles in the corner, you know the one in the combo video (and in your matches) you do so often after a spider sting c:h: + doom into magic series. Most of the time I’ll land behind them and my webzip that’s supposed to pull me down pulls THEM out of range of the last two missles and they recover right before I land =/
Are you saying that they pop out before you can land the web throw? That happens to me sometimes and it is probably because you are webzipping too early or at the wrong angle. You could also try landing then jumping up and webzipping behind them as well. The only reason I AD with it is because it helps me with the timing for the cross behind them.
Two things happen, the web zip pulls them out of the corner causing them to “miss” the last few missles and then they recover a bit outside of the corner missing the H webthrows hitbox, I’m going to try the jump//webzipping.
It’s iffy timing. You have to jump forward and do zip close to the peak of your jump roughly around the same time that missiles hit then you have to whiff j:s: then land into :h: web throw.
i see, yeah I noticed a few times that I’d hit them a bit early and knock them out of the corner and they’d recover before I’d land in time to do a :h: web throw, OR they’d get pushed out of the corner and the :h: web throw would wiff, and I’d react too slowly to change it to heh.
it’s actually pretty consistent seems to work on any char i’ve tried it against btw. the only thing needed is timing. most of the combo setups after air series will let the timing work though
yeah after more practice it’s coming out more consistently the only issue I’m having is that my inputs get eaten or something and it’ll show I did a full :hcb: + :h: but the web throw still won’t come out, I’m guessing its because I started the input when I was still “in front” of the character I was juggling.

Just pray you don’t get a web throw wall bounce during a tourney. Happened to me twice already and cost me some matches. Marvel is so unforgiving.
I thought that only came out if your web threw right after a spider sting/bite? because I’ve been…avoiding that because I don’t trust my execution that can barely perform a simple DP.
I’m going to master that glitch… then hopefully make it an infinite :lol:
The bug usually comes out during quick cross ups to web throw to corner but I think I’ve got it to come out some other times but can’t remember though. One of my vids shows an example of how to induce the bug but I still haven’t found a consistent way to do it so I can’t test how much I can leverage the wall bounce. The bug also doesn’t count as a wall bounce.

Yeah I haven’t had it happen to me ONCE so I’m certain it comes from some of the dash under/ kara sting stuff you guys do because aside from the basic OTG/web swing/web throw//doom relaunches I haven’t delved much into that area yet.
I picked up Spiderman using no assists and found him to be not the best. I picked up Doom for this occasion, with missles.
I feel I’m using it as a crutch though, for my lazy blocking skills, all it ever does is ruin combos or saves my ass from having horrible reaction times.
Should I switch to plasma beam? It could help Zero out, and maybe help me do better with blockstrings, which also need a tune up (hurr I’ll air-dash then S and sweep H!).
