On kara-throw

With Q I only use b + strong to karathrow if I’m in midscreen or the wall is behind me or if it’s necessary that I have that extra range. Otherwise, I’ll stick with neutral strong or toward + strong. No, toward + strong is not an extra move, but Q’s neutral throw is different from his toward throw, the opponent gets thrown farther away with the toward version, so it just depends on where I want the opponent to be, near me or away from me.

I duno I always thought Chun had the best one. But if Croyd says Ryu and Akuma have the best one I bet thats right. Notable kara throws: Q, Elena. They really benefit from their kara throws. Worst kara throws: Twelve, Ken. For starters Twelve doesn’t even have a kara throw really. The move he uses is MP into throw. The thing is that his MP changed when he gets close to the opponent. If you want to do full screen kara throws then Twelve’s is decent. Does Ken even have one?

Um… cr.RH? That and/or cr.MK are used to Kara his 2nd uppercut, so I think that’s what you use to karathrow.

I never bother though… just rely on high/low/block/throw mixups.

Because you can’t grab when pressing down. And probably no human can return to neutral fast enough to do the grab and cancel the first frames of the move, so it’s basically impossible.

Changing from a forward to a back throw probably has a longer amount of time that you can switch directions. To kara a c.mk into a throw is 1 or 2 frames?

So it may technically be impossible (as in the game will not allow it to happen because the crouching frame can’t be interrupted with throw animation), or it may just be humanly impossible. Either way nobody will do it.

It’s neither, try it with Yun and Yang’s sweeps… It works and you can clearly hear the “ooh” sound before the throw comes out.

Ok, I tried it and when doing the move randomly by itself it would never come out (on the line of being impossible for a person) but when holding down and doing the sweep and then releasing down (kara cancelling right after), it worked.

So it is possible (I admit I was wrong there) but I honestly can’t imagine this being humanly possible while playing a match. So I guess whether or not it’s “possible” depends on how you define the practicality of doing it, which I assume for most people is zero. If you have to use the method that I used for it then that alone makes it pointless.

…But the game does allow it to happen.
