Omron d2rv-g-sd2 microswitch for Sanwa

Hello guys,

Is there a place i can order these switches looked everywhere but no luck i would like to have some back up switches for my Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK.
Tried paradise shop they do sell the pcb with the switches for 45 bucks but damn shipment to Europe costs me 85 bucks!!

Thx in advance

Theres this from Arcade World UK : https://www.arcadeworlduk.com/products/sanwa-ms-o-2p-microswitch.html
You could also buy the TMPA board from them…

@VarmintBaby those microswitches you linked to are the conventional ones for the standard JLF. @LawShadow is looking for the switches for the 2nd gen Silent JLF.

Short answer (as you might have guessed already) is that you are assed out. Those microswitches (D2RV-G-SD2) were made-to-order by Omron for Sanwa, specifically for that joystick. I’m betting that PAS has the Switch/PCB/Actuator/Gate kits as scavenged from fullJLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK units that they have on-hand. I bought a couple of those kits from them for my standard JLFs a year ago or so.

Are you looking to replace a broken silent microswitch (which would really surprise me, as they are reed switches with great longevity), or do you just want to try out some silent goodness on your existing standard JLF assembly?

No actually, Omron has made those prior to Sanwa putting them in their levers and they offer them separately. Paradise doesn’t scavenge them from full units, they pick the parts and put together custom kits from in house parts.

Wait…Sanwa (or one of their distributors) sells PAS the following JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK parts…separately?:

  • JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Pcb/microswitch assembly
  • JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK actuator
  • JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK restrictive gate

Don’t the orders for those have to be vast to qualify?

The Mouser link you shared didn’t show any listed parts (at least on the mobile browser on my phone). I’m aware of Omron manufacturing multiple variants of the D2RV microswitch prior to the silent JLF (both gens). However, at least in my research, the “-g-sd2” can’t be purchased separately…well at least from any English-language sites I’ve searched.

From the source:
https://www.omron.com/ecb/products/sw/11/d2rv.html

The -sd2 qualifier is notating soldered terminals instead of quick disconnect.

Paradise buys the quick disconnect versions, so the Paradise silent JLF kits have 4 of those, a 5 pin terminal harness, and an oversized actuator to offset the additional engage the D2RV-G switches have. They order the switches bulk either direct from Omron or from an Omron supplier. They are the same spec as the ones used on the Sanwa JLF PCB assembly but have quick connect terminals instead of solder terminals. There is nothing special about them otherwise, no special specs Sanwa requests, simply soldered ends for PCBs.

The Paradise actuators are custom made under the Paradise brand. They’re not made by Sanwa.

Well, looks like Paradise added the offiical silent assembly. Their initial silent kits are actually a better deal, but some people might want official Sanwa PCBs instead since they’re a little cleaner when insalled.

You don’t need to buy vast quantities or scavange parts from other levers if you have the right contacts.

I’m aware that PAS sells THIS kit with the .187 quick disconnect switches instead of the switches soldered into a PCB.

What I’m referring to is THIS kit, which has all-Sanwa parts from THIS full joystick. I’ve purchase the aforementioned silent kit from PAS as well as the full joystick (from ArcadeShock) and the white actuator is the same in both–and are therefore Sanwa, not PAS. Here’s even a LINK to a silent JLF review (associated with Focus Attack) video (which shows the components) for reference.

So yeah, what I was stipulating was that the parts from this kit are most likely extracted from full silent joystick assemblies, and sold by PAS as a lower-cost alternative to people with std JLFs–as no other arcade stick part retailer I’ve researched worldwide offers the kit as a standalone from the full 2014-model silent JLF joystick.

Sorry if I was vague. Hope this clears up everything!

Nah, I gotcha. I actually didn’t realize PAS was selling the silent PCB which was why I added the “Well, looks like Paradise added the offiical silent assembly” bit in the previous post. As long as I’ve known the folks they haven’t scavanged parts to list up on the site so they’re probably getting them extra.

I’m guessing the D2RV-LG Reed PAS sells would change the engage of a LS-40? I’m not sure what the difference engage are between the 2 microswitches are and they don’t sell larger actuators for the 40 so I guess I’ll have to deal with it or ghetto mod the actuator if I want the same feel?
PAS also says it’s about 125gf so they are the L11G instead of the LG? Don’t those have different reed lengths?

I’m pretty sure I remember seeing a few boxes of levered D2RV-G at some point. I can’t recall if that was at EVO or when I went to visit.

Any of the D2RV series would change the engage and any stick you put it on needs an oversized actuator. PAS was seeking an oversized LS-32 actuator which might be able to be retrofit with a spacer to work with LS-40.

I can’t look up the specs at the moment but from what I recall a base D2RV was 125gf.

Looking at the datasheet they all seem different gf for different models, for the pin plunger 100gf, and the reed lever 50 and 100gf but different reed lengths so for the LS-40 does it use the long or short reed? Or are the hinge levers not the reed metal part?

The reed isn’t the lever, the reed is a little piece of metal inside the switch. Need the normal lever, D2RV-L11G for the LS-40 or any other long levered stick like the JLW or LS-32. For LS-5x(6x) you’d need the short lever.

50 gf isn’t so bad, but you’d definitely need a stronger spring on it. If you can find spare LS-38 springs you could throw that on a LS-40, that will counter balance the lack of tension from the switches. Actually, that’s ideal, since you’re only getting spring tension and not engage/neutral tension thrown into the mix. Makes for smoother operation. I would also recommend getting an aluminum ball top or bat top to counter the extra strength of a LS-38 spring.

PAS sells the 38 spring but their D2RV-LG I’m guessing is the L11G then?
Datasheet says the LG is long hinge and L11G is short so LG for the LS-40?

You’re correct, the LG not the L11G. The L11G for the 56, LG for the 32/40.
