Olympia MVC2 scene?

are there any MVC2 players at the arcades out here on the southern tip of puget sound?

Vaun (Titomel on SRK) is a pretty good Marvel player, but I’m not sure if he really plays that much anymore, or if he lives in Seattle now for school. He’s the only Olympia Marvel player I know about though.

There use to be a lot but most of them aren’t active anymore due to many reasons.

Ah well. I’ll be at the mall this weekend if anyone is interested in getting old-skool MVC2 style and being at the arcade on the weekend.

OG!

Are you visiting, staying, or what’s the story?
We’re getting together for games Friday night at my place if you’re interested.

ok ok ok. . . here’s the deal. Jason moved back to Portland last that I heard about three months ago, but he may have moved back to Olympia. He plays mahvuehllll along with a couple other peeps. If you really want to play I can call him and see if he lives in Olympia again ( he said he might move back to Olympia after summer), and see what the other Olympia player’s deal is.

Also this is probably the Mr.Jamie that had the Mr.Jamie marvel website a few years ago huh? Anyways, let me know and I can call them and see whats up if you want. Peace.

Edit: Zach’s (Preppy’s) is/always will be the Baumbest if you wanna hang with some cool peeps and play some games.

I’m in Olympia at Evergreen until at least the end of the summer.
Where is your place and how can I get there?

and will it matter that I’m still such a scrub? :o

Taiga_Knee> Yea, that’s me. Do you mean Jason X? How is he doing? How is his kid?

north of bellevue… ouch, not way no how not in this snow
thanks for the invite though! it’s been a while eh! I hope you are well?

Yeah, it’s been a pretty fun year so far. And it’s cool that Capcom is finally showing love to fighting game fans again.

I’ll be at the mall arcade in Olympia for 12-ish to 3-ish

Ok so Ill call Jason (not Jason X) tomorrow and see what the deal is with Olympia.

Hey. Welcome to the Area. This is the Jason that Theo mentioned a few posts up.

For several years there were three of us (Dave, Saige, and myself) who played religiously (and all worked at tilt) as well as a pretty solid group of 4-10 regulars, including Von, who BrentoBox mentioned above, and his cousins.

About a year and a half ago, the Capital Mall tilt closed and that largely disbanded the local following. I’d heard it had reopened, but I haven’t been there myself. Dave (the former tilt manager) and myself both moved away, but there are still a few good bets for games in the area. There was a guy named Drew who used to play a lot that I think is around, and I saw Von at one point about 1/2 a year ago while visiting town. I’m pretty certain that Saige still lives in Olympia, and he would be by far your best bet for marvel games. There was also a guy named Brian who used to play a bit of everything and would regularly hold big screen events at his place.

Anyway, I think I might be passing through town in the next month for a visit, and I’d definitely be up for meeting. In the meantime, though, I could call Saige and see if he’s still active.

The bottom line is- if you show up you’re bound to run into some of these people.

On a side note, I hope Evergreen works out for you. I graduated just over a year ago and I’m currently deciding on a grad school program. Olympia is definitely a unique place.

Peace.

ahh. right on time Jason. Probably with a Pm from Zach or something, or you’re just magical like that. U still wanna try and get some games in next time I come up or not. . .?? Ugh! TIme for grad school!

Edit- man that’s a sick sig you got there Jason.

Thanks for the replies.
It’s been a bit lonely at the arcades what with the storm and all, but this one guy with short reddish brown hair, a beard and glasses has been playing a cable/im/sonson combination every now and again. I’ll ask him his name next time.

What are you looking at for grad schools, Jason?
