Dat SCV I have a friend who might be making a appearance at OCC tonight to get down on some SCV, maybe you guys can get him into some other fighting games too.
From experience I can say that it is very difficult to convince a player to play other fighting games. Many players can be very closed minded like that. I haven’t been really playing SF lately, not because I dislike the game, but because I personally don’t get any satisfaction from playing it anymore. Marvel is fun and despite from what people say combos can be rather difficult. I get satisfaction from discovering new things about marvel and sharing them. It really depends on what the person likes about fighting games. The only thing we can do really is explain what type of game it is i.e. pace, game mechanics, execution requirements, etc. and the player should take it from there.
Yeah I can understand that, I’ve tried getting him into SF4 and MvC3 but he never wants to play, he watches me in training a lot and thinks i’m just some godlike beast because I can set up perfect conditions to land combos(Even if it’s something simple like Gouken ex palm ex fireball u1).

You mean you haven’t seen Mitsurugi or Nightmare? Cause both of them are in the game.

I’m actually quite thrilled that a lot of us want to play SCV competitively. I’m usually not pessimistic but I was definitely not expecting you guys to have interest in SCV, mainly because in order to be competitive in SC you have to devote some serious time into learning the game.
Resets (Oki, Traps), Throw tech situations, Combos, Stage positioning, (Juggles, Wall, Stun, Counter hit [Run, Attack], etc.) w/without meter, Guard Impacts and its properties, Safe strings and patterns, Just guarding and meter management, just to name a few.
Then add all these factors to a roster of 17+ characters?!? I was already uneasy because the amount of focus is very demanding, on par with Tekken, and lets face it not too many of us know how to play Tekken at a high level.
I am willing to help teach and share knowledge of what I know about the game but I don’t want to teach everyone everything about the game. I really want people to experiment and teach each other how to play. Being creative and having an open and free line of communication is the only way we’ll get better. Who knows some more of you might want to pick up Tekken. I’m not keeping my fingers crossed though.
but there are more than a few of us that are pretty big SC2 vets, and regardless of what they tried to do to us with 3 and 4, the soul still burns.

SCV looked like a lot of fun last night, too bad the setup got changed to CvS before me and my friend got to get some games in, still looked like fun, also good games on MvC last night, thanks for dealing with my scrub combos, if you could even call them combos lol.
You guys need to be assertive and call “I GOT NEXT FOOLS!” A bunch of dudes were just stalking our games yesterday it was really weird. I only really played two matches in SCV yesterday but bring your friend over next week. There will be more games of SCV.
I totally was talking about buying the astro last night. I get off from at 4 today so I’ll probably hit you up around then.
yeah we deffinately need to start calling that we got next, my friend was saying that he wanted to just observe the first time he was there, get a feel for the group.

Went to Round Table Pizza today, theyve got a Neo Geo machine with KoF 96. The best part is that it’s free to play. Me, Amir, and a few other guys from my school got hype, and I’m pretty sure that the customers and employees were amazed at all of the fun we were having on that little machine haha. Their 10 dollar buffet is pretty awesome too.
10$ buffet and free KoF? WHERE IS THIS MAGIC PLACE? I’ve never been to round table pizza :<
