Olympia Fightclub!

Man when we left seattle and when alex’s took a wrong turn on a oneway rode I was like man going to have to kill alex if we crash? But lucky that we didn’t I was like I don’t want to kill. Well that the story for me today.

Epic! Best part of the story was “I don’t want to kill.”

Ryan. I found something you will like. skip to around 10min’s.

OFC OFC OFC!!!

DAT WAKEUP SUPER! Aburnflags special #1

Haha, at around 41-42 minutes you can see Ryan losing to a Cody player going for the wing.

My biggest regret…I was just a few inches away from that wing victory

Hey, just a reminder, we skipped 2 months worth of paying Downer. So bring a bit of cash to Lopez’s. Also, I won’t be able to go to NWM. I got fucked over by work for various reasons.

I’m actually somewhat relieved that most of us aren’t going to NWM this year. I think playing at gameworks proved (to me at least) that we need to really raise our overall level before we can honestly be considered as anything more than a punching bag. And while it’s true that the joystick/button quality there wasn’t ideal, i still saw each and every one of us consistently blow punishes, drop combos, and get blown up in general due to large mistakes on our end.

I think we should start narrowing our focus on certain aspects of the game to try and improve. I rarely show up at OCC so I don’t know how things work there, but at Lopez’s I see a lot of time get squandered in exchange for seeing how many run-stop-fierce iterations we can do in a row. I know it’s a game and as such should be fun, but learning and improving can also be a lot of fun.

This mini-rant only voices the opinion of myself, as I don’t speak for everyone; I’m just trying to let people know how I feel about us trying to make the most we can out of the small community we have. There is a lot of untapped potential among us, but we won’t uncover it with the way we’re using our time.

Haters gonna hate.

Your right we are not up to par to do well in a tournament but we certinly not going to get better by not going to tournaments. If we wait around and play more until we’re confident we can perform well then we’ll never end up leaving. The more tournaments we participate in the more experience we get in not only different matchups but also how to perform under pressure. As for the specific parts of the game we need to focus on that’s what recording equipment is for taking the time to watch your performance and figure out what you need to work on. This is important because in the heat of the match you may think you missed something or you dropped combos but are totally oblivious to the flow of the match.

Whats wrong with RSF iterations?

On a serious note, we need to teach each other. Despite us being so close we don’t communicate enough with each other. Lets take Tekken for example. Lopez’s and I will go back and forth with what we can punish and what we can’t. The setups, the traps, and the mistakes we make. We don’t do that with SF. All we do is pass the stick on when we lose with not assessing the situation while its fresh in our minds. Then we forget our mistakes and we press that soft reset button in our brains. Like when I was getting focus happy and I was eating XeroxHands jump ins to Jet Upper and how many times are we gonna eat Arcade Elites empty jump setups. Some of these things we can’t teach which makes it just a guessing game then. Then again my love for SF4 is probably as dead as roadkill. So I vote for more self-assessment and more in house communication good and bad of course.

Missing out on tournaments is never a good thing, especially since this is the big one…You gain so much knowledge & experience going to one im sadden only less then handful cannot make it…Not only that, this is the perfect time to do some networking to expand our scene…

Anyway, who is going & who is not…

DJragequit- No
Aburnflags - No
Rising Church - Maybe
Twins - No
Sam - Yes
BotPM- Yes

I might go. But I don’t think I’ll be playing. Kinda broke at the moment… :bluu:

Alright from here on we need to bring 5$ every first sunday of the month we missed the last couple months actually. Jay and I caught us up for now.

Yeah $35 is a bit steep for an entrance fee…From NWM thread i was told spectator fees are $3 for 3 days…I think you guys should still go even though you guys aren’t playing…

I’m going, but only for Friday and Sunday. I wouldn’t mind riding up with someone (or driving up someone).

Well I thought I had a bit longer to get my stuff out of Seattle, but it seems like the friends I was staying with are getting evicted in 4 days. So if anyone has a plan to get a small car full of stuff to the Olympia/Lacey area by then, feel free to share.

I wasn’t watching Marvel during Canada Cup, but if you watch this match from the finals and don’t want to play some Ultimate with me I feel bad for you son

EDIT: Thanks for the matches, Jay

So I’m watching Frame Trap and F. Champ just said he’s going to NWM 3? Hmmm… Gonna be interesting.

So no Lopezs this Sunday just a heads up.

Jordan I think I have your PS3 power cable? If it’s not yours then I’m not sure whose it is. Hit me up if you need it bad or if you can wait til Thursday.
