If so that’s 3 right there, bmckay, aburnflags, djragequit, xeroxhands, that one guy who came by, sorry forgot your name, & myself…That makes 9, there might be some randoms too…So bokkin if you can come down & maybe bring some peeps with you, shit would be fun.
I think the Tourney should be on the 14th though, we should have at least one more gathering so we can talk about it or set things up. I mean its going to be like 3 weeks since we seen each other when the tournament finally hits.
I dont even know how much its going to be & anybody here know how to do brackets? Organization & first impressions are key to bringing people back for the second time. What do you guys think? Anybody who’s done tournaments before give any tips/ advice?

So January 14th there is a tourney at OCC planned? Am I understanding this correctly?
And in regards to the reason for the unsettling attitude towards the place, last time I was there looking at magic singles (bout a year back) I had 2 employees watching me like hawks, and then they came over and made me take my hood off. I was more than a little offended at their blatant fear of me stealing cards from them. Which is almost justified given the obscene price gouging on many of their items.
The organization of their store is ridiculous (i.e. non-existant) and the place reeks of alpha-nerd auras.
NOW with that said, sure it’s nice of them to let us do it there, but I think we could do much better if we can get an actual turnout.
Yes the tournament will be Jan 7th, however I may be able to talk my friend into letting us use his place for future events, he’s the guy i mentioned earlier who has a bunch of arcade cabinets and allot of space. I’m trying to convenience him to show up Thursdays. We should all show up at his place one the 30th for his pre new years party and to play ufs and some random casuals. I’ve been looking into trying to record our matches for the tourney but unfortunately everything I’ve tried so far has failed.

no no its on the 30th, he’s got a bunch of old school stuff and weird stuff. Can’t remember exactly what he has tho, one of the alpha’s for sure and mark of the wolves i remember, not sure what else. If you want to go you should send me a pm so i can give you the address
Uh I doubt many people will be free on the 31st doing new years stuff so i think we’re going to skip a week and just meet up on the 7th before the tournament the thing on the 30th is something totally different I just thought you guys might be interested in and it would help recruit a friend of mine.
Hey aburnflags, you should post the tournament/event on the SRK front page calender for January 7th. May help to attract more peeps. If you want me to do it let me know, i just need more info like cost to join in, how much is percentage winning of 1st place, 2nd, 3rd, etc…
i just sent it,hopefully it will be approve ASAP to get some exposure…I really should practice, havent played SFIV since the last time i played you guys…
8 is a bit late I know but it’s okay to cuss at the story around 9 so I figure if we’re gonna do a tourney it may bring some saltiness. You can still show up at 5 and catch some casuals if you have nothing else to do. I’m getting pretty good feedback from this so I’ll be doing this again for sure, probably first Thursday of every month so if you can’t make it this time no sweat.
