The hell? You guys got banned? I mean… I was sick on Thursday so I couldn’t make it out, that doesn’t mean you have to start a riot. 
lol how the heck did you guys hear about this already?! >< No no we didn’t get banned per-say, basically some other group came by and chipped the tile where we move the couches and stuff so gaby (owner of store) caught wind of the chipped tile and (after making sure we didn’t have a tournament) said we shouldn’t show up this next Thursday (may 20th) which is fine by me cause I’m stuck on a 3day field trip for school anyway. We may move to a different location in OCC (over where people play tabletop games like 40k) where it’s only carpet but until we set that up should we play again in the same place we must be ultra super careful to not set the couch on the tile either by moving it on or off OR placing a leg on the tile edge. It sucks being blamed for something we probably didn’t do (though there is no way to prove one way or another)
In general Gabi is getting impatient to our whole situation since she doesn’t think we are helping her shop in popularity or with money so I am trying to find us other back-up places (even though we can still play at OCC no problem) I just hope to find a bigger place should we grow any larger (and we are getting larger each Thursday!) One option may be a pizza place by where i live (yelm highway) its a mom and pop shop that seems friendly but I’ll have to talk to them. On the other hand a friend of mine is trying to start an internet cafe and he’d love us to be there should he get it off the ground and I’d really love to support a lan store.
So in short yea don’t show up on the 20th but nothing else has changed we are still doing stuff every Thursday including a tournament on the first Thursday. Also DJragequit is considering going up to Tournament wars on the 29th who is down to go?

Yeah I’m looking to hook us up with that pizza place right next to where (i think) you live. I still need to talk with the manager but I can never make it over there before 5 (when the manager leaves) according to the hostess i talked to however he’d probably be cool with us playing there and they dont close till like 2:30 or some shit. Cheap pizza, arcade and drinks till 2 in the morning = hell yes. I may skip out of class early today to try and talk with the manager I’ll let you guys know. Till then however we’ll still be playing at OCC so keep showing up!

Yes, OCC is a great place to hold the get togethers. Unfortunately we’re generally less inclined to buy anything from the shop than MTG or mini players which means the shop has less to gain from us hosting it there.
I think it might help if we could figure out some way to make the fightclub directly benefit the shop. At a video rental place I worked at, they made buy-ins either $5 cash or $5 down on a pre order. To the winner went a free game, to 2nd went a free rental, etc. In theory if you had enough people (which we never did) the buy-ins would cover the cost of prizes and of paying my ass. As far as I know OCC has never been the collector of buy-ins, but I dunno, maybe have everyone buy a friggin comic or something, and to the winner goes a something or other. Just an idea.
That being said if we could make it work I think pizza and beer and SF til last call sounds sick.
I’ve bought a bunch of figures from them. Im a bit annoyed that they keep accusing us of breaking their tiles, i dont even see it & we aren’t the only ones there. They should just be upfront, we aren’t bringing in money for them to warrant us to play on Thursday, which is perfectly understandable…
A new place would be cool, like that pizza place. I dont know about the location though, if its going to attract other peeps. OCC was a great location to attract people but for some reason people dont show up. Sadly i think the Olympia scene is just too weak now, all the hardcore fighters got old or left.
So how was last Thursday night? How many people show up?

We might consider checking out if evergreen or like SPSCC has an open lecture room with a projector we could use at night. Up at WWU you could pretty much just snag a room and nobody would ask questions.
For now I’m in favor of sticking at OCC. It may not work forever but I think a pizza place would be more likely to kick us out without notice than Gabi.
First of all, Gengar, fuck yeah.
And let’s see, me, Aburn, DJ, Drybones, the twins, Chris, your brother, Sebastian, and one other dude from the last tourney are people who’ve shown up before and came to play, other than that, I think there were several people who stopped and played a few games with us.
As for where we should play, I don’t even know. The real problem I see with OCC is just space. There are only so many people we can feasibly fit in that area, so when we actually get a big turnout, it seems pretty crowded.
But on the other hand, OCC seems like the best location for accessibility. People know where it is, and like going there already. It is also in town, as opposed to further out.
YAY! I got 2nd yesterday! Totally rocked Dhalsim to a nice place. Major thanks to Ryan for showing me how awesome Sim is! =D
But anyways, about finding a new place. Maybe we could host certain things at OCC, than maybe have another event tailor made for…say, adults or something like that. Perhaps that might be a bit much for something we’re just starting, but it’s a thought.
