Old Mad Catz TE1 Mods for Current Gen?

Hey guys!

I just got back into fighting games, and I was wondering if my Mad Catz TE1 Stick… is relevant at all.

I’m planning to mod it up to be functional with ps4/xbone/switch? Is this possible? Would it be not worth the effort/cost?

Also, what other cool mods or must have mods would be good for it?

A cheap solution is to just buy an adapter for the console you want to play on, even some high level players that don’t want to buy a new stick do this.
If you want to do some hardware mods so it’s native, you could replace the board in your TE1 with a PS4 board (you’d have to solder your buttons/stick wires to the board).

Also, what other cool mods or must have mods would be good for it?

Any stick/button replacements that you prefer over what you have atm. Some people prefer different gates, or different button manufacturers, or you might want to cover up the 4th column of buttons so you only have 6 buttons. You could also replace the artwork and buy some plexiglass to cover it so it stays nice and clean.

if you want those 3 systems i’d go for the Brook UFB…

Might need a little bit of soldering but it can do ps3, ps4, 360, xbone, switch and PC. It has plenty of modes!

If it’s a 360 TE it might be easier as almost everything is on connectors… but if it’s the ps3 version there’s a little bit more of soldering (or unsoldering) required.

Having 3 brook converters can be a little bit expensive but may be good for friends that come to your place and don’t have a compatible controller for that console.

Oh jeez thanks a lot! I feel pretty bad now cause I see the Brook Converter threads :frowning: Glad you mentioned the customization options actually! Maybe when I get my chops back up and I feel better haha, giving me some good ideas doe!

Yeah ouch I just read the Brook Converter thread! My bad guys! I didn’t even know about it! I appreciate it though, I have a 360 TE actually! I heard they were a bit easier to be modded, this makes me a bit more confident then :D!
