Partial ultra leaves the opponent right next to you so no this won’t work after that.
Just hold u/f and Ken will jump as soon as possible then just hit hk when you are near the ground. Easy way to test if you’re doing it right pick ken vs ken in training mode record ken doing ultra, hold u/f hk and block (the full ultra animation takes almost the full record time so you’ll have to be sort of fast). Then play it back and get hit by the ultra and do a reversal strong shoryu. It should be blocked. Now play it back and do a reversal fierce shoryu. It should win clean. Now play it back and block high and you should block the jump-in really deep.

The mechanics are slightly different in this game but the idea is the same.
screw that running little bald-headed Captain America…:arazz:
I can’t stand him, I’d rather play Sim…I dunno, even when I win, it’s not satisfying. Cuz I didn’t get to hit him enough times before he goes down. Nope, don’t like the match one bit bro;)
Btw–anyone got tips on Viper? I friended a very good one. Great mix-ups and has good timing with Ultra so you can’t jump on him at all. It was going back and forth, but I felt kinda cheated. It’s like you can’t tell what side Viper’s flame kick is gonna land on. Not cuz your just in a daze, but you can’t freakin see her foot with all that fire! This becomes much more frustrating with the fact that She can x-up from almost anywhere on the screen, and that the flame kick is safe on block. (at least it seems that way, cuz he was spamming.)
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he wasn’t excellent, but sheesh, there has to be a way to stop so many flame kicks. It was his X-up setup, his juggle setup, his mash special setup on my block strings, some of his wake-ups he used it. I’m just like DUDE WHAT THE HELL!?!!
So er…yeah, How do you stop this nonsense, other than turtling? I guess I gotta put FA in the mix? I hope not, cuz Ken’s FA gets you killed sometime.
Hey Omni are you on XBL? If so we can play some matches. I just started playing Viper like a week ago, but I’m OK. So we can practice that match-up if you want.
I do abuse BK a lot, it’s a bad habit, lol. But I knew you went for tick kara throws a lot so I guessed and did a light BK.
Maybe doing a string like this might work against BK, I’m not sure though:
Also I think cr.mk making BK whiff might be height dependant. If the BK cross-up is done very low, Ken may still get hit. Don’t quote me on this though, I don’t really know much about Ken’s move properties. And I’m not actually that good, lol, but thanks. Your Ken’s pretty nasty though.
I’ve been trying to implement the kara-fb into my game, i just get nervous cause if i’m in a fb war, i’m nervous i’ll mess up the input and take one in the face. I’ve also been trying to do the kara SRK in practice mode.
out of all the ways I can think of to do a standard SRK i found that :df: (back to neutral) :r: + MK~LP is the easiest. Any one else have suggestions to for the kara SRK?
I do :r: then do a kara fireball and you get kara dp.
Another use for kara fireball if you’re in a close range (like step kick range) fireball war and your opponent will die from one more fb but you can survive eating one. Wait for his fireball then throw a kara fireball, you’ll eat his fireball but your fb will go through and smack him in the face.
a shortcut for the k-SRK that works for me is :df: (back to neutral) :r: + MK~(punch)
(though I don’t think MP will work since he might end up doing a K-Focus)
If Abel rolls toward me, I usually just try to catch him with a kara throw while he’s in the motion. That’s seems like the best way to stop it. As for you’re jumping -> thrown issue, are you jumping straight up? If you are and Abel ends up behind you, there’s not much you can do if he does a command throw (unless you EX SRK but I’m not sure if that’s the best idea since you’ll just get severely punished on block).
Throws > Abel’s rolls
If you are good and the right opportunity presents itself, you can make him eat a combo coming out of his rolls. It is a bit more risky but you can do a hit confirm SRK. Stick with throws if you want safe.
For jump ins, just expect a cross up and defend appropriately. I would try countering with lp.SRK several times early in the match to send a clear message that he can’t do that to you.
If he tries to do it during wake up, dash forward is decent option.
