LOL. Shit, we never had one of these?
Nah, we didn’t, lol.
HEY GUYS
50/50S EVERYWHERE
WUT. Oh, and Happy New Year’s to everyone, another year of oiling up.
Well it’s not dead… it’s just developing slowly cause… well… there are only a few of us here interested and really deeply honing our skills with hakan.
Ugh btw I had a weird dream last night… hakan had an anti air sort of like the small version of his U2 where he laid down and squeeze the opponent away from him quickly heheheh… probably my subconscious dream of wanting hakan to have an anti air hehehe
Thats pretty much dead. lol
Whoo, ima have a FT10 with my friend’s Rose tomorra. Vids shall be uploaded.
Also, Hakan has inspired me to pursue a career as a historian, specializing in the Anatolian Peninsula/Russia. wooo
missed grab Seriously?
Seriously.
Though, I already planned to major in history; I just never had a planned area.
Happy New Years guys. I kinda wish I could contribute more but I’ve been following the theories and great findings from you guys to improve my own game. Someone has to show the world Turkish Oil Wrestling after all. Also @ Liquigen: Nice on your focused area of study. Good luck to you on it!
I guess games are indeed potential new media for information and interest flow, we got an example here
If only the mainstream accepted it that well. It was almost like the Romance of the three kingdoms series (dynasty warriors / shin sangoku musou in japan) I picked up a bit of interest in that particular area. And although they are heavily spiced up they help me remember who is who by having those mental images of the character they created. I hope games will go far beyond the line of mere entertainment one day.
Grats on the area of study, Liquigen!
The info will come soon enough, we’re in that dead zone between AE release and Super on console, and there have been no majors to buzz around really. I’ll be at West Coast Warzone trying to make a Hakan riot, so look forward to that!
I’m still in NorCal visiting, I’ll be back on Wednesday to pour some stuff in the Media Library and update the Hakan Offensive Thread.
Oh, and Itabashi Zangief is picking up Hakan, I’m hoping for some offensive-oriented Hakan action!
yeah realpolitix is right, I kind of feel the dead vacuum space in between transition. I feel i lose the interest slightly in playing super hakan knowing that the ae hakan is already out there, we just need the patch for console ver then ill get back to him more. But having said that I still practice at least 4-5 times a week just to keep them feeling, timing, and inputs sharp only online matches stopped for this while.
Needs more Crisco.
LOL. Is that shooped? Shit looks real.
Man they sell that shit at walmart son.
Hey, did anyone watch the before Hakan came out? I remember before Super was released and after Hakan was announced, I couldn’t resist searching it up on youtube.
Stuffing your hands down another man’s kisbet is some manly ass shit.
I did watch it. Tho i love seeing how hakan fights on SF I hate to imagine myself being covered in olive oil euww I’m abit obsessed with hygiene and I cant stand the greasy oily feeling of stuff on my skin.
Btw has anyone noticed… I paid attention recently to when hakan does his FA charge. I see red stuff around his mouth I cant really tell whether that is his tongue sticking out or is that the inner side of his cheek. Cause if his tongue is out he may bite it while he’s FADCing lol and resulting in sports injury… oh no actually… he shoulda put his jelly mouth guard on while fighting XD
Didn’t find a suiting topic, so I’m gonna go ahead and ask a few questions here. Basically I had a terrible day dropping to 1k~ PP…I decided yesterday that I’d have fun with Hakan, since I was pretty bored with SSFIV and MvC3 online experience is terrible. So I went ahead and learned one shenanigan from each knockdown, punish BnB, quick look at his frame data and watched about 20 matches from WildCat to get a general gameplan. Didn’t go too well, so I was hoping some people could solve these issues:
Is there a normals punish combo (like c.jab, s. jab, s.medium)? I couldn’t punish poorly spaced Soul Spirals and Rekkas beyond a jab, because SPD unloied has terrible reach.
Is there any option against opponents who favor neutral jumping? I mean, some normal like Abel’s standing fierce xx something (heck, with Abel you actually want them to neutral jump), Seth’s and Fei Long’s standing fierce, etc, or you simply have to guess and follow him up.
I hate AA with Hakan…god damn. It’s the worst in the entire game (although I’ve heard UltraDavid disagree somewhere), everything trades, is spacing dependant and lp slide gets beaten by empty jumps.
Does he have any normal at all with a hurtbox beyond his hitbox? I can never stuff Adon’s Jaguar Kick or wall kick thingy and I was destroyed by Abel’s wheel kick.
Lazy question: can you option select coward crouch? Is it useful? That crouch topic says it avoids a lot of stuff.
When people are safe jumping, what exactly are your inputs after the safe jump? What I mean is, since Hakan has no hit confirm (that I know of) a lot of times the safe jump would hit, but I’d only continue with a c.lp (habits…), and other times, expecting it to hit, I’d do a c.mk xx oil slide, but it would be blocked and I’d eat anything they want to throw at me. So basically, is the timing off the jump roundhouse and c.mk enough to confirm and do the motion (If so, I’ll just have to condition myself better…)?
What do you do against “meaty” lvl 3 focus, unoiled? The backdash is too short (or seems to have no invincibility) to avoid it.
Thanks in advance and stay oily.
normal punish combo that doesnt end with knock down? (SSF4 version not ae cause ae has that jab combos that leads to slide) theres lp, lp, mp. use lk or c. lk for quick stuffing when in poke / jab fights they are the quickest. for soul spiral the opening will be, if the space is right c.mk slide, if not block the c. mk and another spiral. Theres no instant punish for hakan your instant punish is expecting what opponent do next. from my experience, some rose players will back dash or jump after blocked spiral. either collide in air and air grab or oil dive and in case of rose back dash you can catch them with slide.
not that i know of, back dash, or block or air grab or standing hp / -> lp.
I have to disagree as well, his primary grounded anti air is standing Hp, -> lp, and lots of other normals. Instead of framing yourself in the mentality of hitting someone when they jump in on you, why not try slide under them as in doing normals not slide with oil slide. -> Mp and c. HP is useful. and with oil on you have to master crisco cancel (FADC) with jump in, you focus, back / fwd dash cancel w c. lk or any jab connect to throw or delay and jump for air grab.
none, block both as far as I know. wheel kick if your timing is correct they usually do it on wake up so you can oil dive it or quickly j. lk / j hk to counter the wheel kick as soon as you wake up.
yes, avoids fireballs, some focus attacks (depending on character), buffer for grab / ultra. also not only defensive, it’s a good intimidating option, try oiling, get a knock down. and coward crouch as they wake up, they will think you will slide, then grab right away. CC, c. Hp, -> mp they all look like slide / dash. so you can intimidate a blocking low opponent with a crisco dash c. hp and they will think its a slide.
jump in lk, then ex grab / normal oil rocket. jump in Hk then jump again Hk or mix with jump in hk then oil dive (they will think you will jump again so getting ready to block high). If your timing is right, late J hk and oil dive, the meaty oil dive will catch them when the block frame barely ends. that’s the idea of hakan ppl will think jump in hk, c mk, slide. but what happen if jump in hk, c mk, slide FADC c. lk c. lk mp, -> mp slide? that adds up to whole lot more pressure. if oiled, jump in hk, jab jab, connect right away to grab they wont be able to tell when it’s landed.
what you do when youre forced to eat focus is: 1. EX oil rocket if their spacing is really tight to you. Back dash obviously if the timing is right but some focus animation will last longer than your short dash so you will eat it. Coward Crouch? thought of that? Ultra 1 if you have it on, u2 if you really want to just avoid the Focus (this will create matrix style bullet dodge XD) but you will most likely get punished after that.
