Well that would make a HELL of a lot more sense. Fine. I place the full blame of dooming the plane to the dumb ass flight attendant. Sheeeit, if I were in that situation, my paranoia would be on HIGH alert and I sure as hell wouldn’t open a door with odd scratching sounds behind it. Hell, I wouldn’t even do that in real life!
As for zombies not head butting at the lab, I’m going to throw them a bone and assume that was some serious hard core industrial strength plexiglass. I would hate to think that they are storing the world’s deadliest diseases behind some cheap glass. Still, that doesn’t explain the zombies at least not trying.
Another inconsistency is the zombie’s strength. Throughout the movie that have demonstrated nearly super human feats of strength, from leaping 10 feet to tackle people, lifting a heavily armed soldier by his collar with ONE arm, forming giant zombie wall ladders, etc.
Yet Brad Pitt is able to fight off a zombie that has him pinned to the ground… sigh…
Saw it last night, went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a very well executed action/horror/thriller pic with a lot more intensity than the trailer would have you believe.
Very good film but still nowhere near as GDLK as 28 Days or even the lesser but still awesome 28 Weeks Later.
Say it today. Decent film; I heard it was garbage so I didn’t go in with any positive expectations.
Echoing Nick’s statement about the jail cell. I thought that part was interesting. Now I know that the book was about the accounts of people living in that shit, that scene in the jail makes me wonder how it would’ve turned out if they went down that route.
I prefer these types of zombies to the classic walkers. These types don’t give a FUCK, and they’re not stopping.
I actually don’t have a preference between the slow vs. fast zombies, but honestly, if the world was going to be overtaken by zombie hordes, fast moving zombies spreading a fast acting virus would be the most believable scenario.
The world would have to be populated with full blown retards to let slow zombies spreading a slow virus overrun the planet (sorry purists).
However, I just don’t like the way WWZ handled it. Fast zombies is one thing, but superhuman undead jumping, flipping, break dancing, etc. was just a little too comical for my taste.
Also, the whole movie is just a wreck overall, but that’s my opinion of course.
