Its all personal opinion and alot of times inside jokes. 
I just can’t stand playing a warrior, that’s all.

I know mages are pretty powerful but I think they would bore me. All in due time though. I’m still messing around with the game to see what I’ll like
Where should I go to read up on warcraft mechanics and class strategies? Everybody’s talking way over my head. I hate being the nub.

Just curious, why do you think a mage would bore you, and why would you pick a paladin instead?
PvP servers if you like pvp,
PVE if you want a handicapped version of the game. up to you.
All my friends who have played paladins unanimously agree that they are really boring, and eventually they all made new characters and never played their pallies…lol
Yeah pally is hella boring, I wouldn’t roll without a partner.
Heh, my buddy rolled a pally as his main, and he still sticks with that character to this day (he did get really geared out pre-BC days too, not so much BC).
Just the stand back and cast and the fact that you can’t take a hit. It’s just my style of play that’s all. In other RPG’s I’ve always relied on physical attacks/techniques and worked on beefing up a characters strength stat the most. Maybe that will change now that I’m playing WoW but that’s why I chose a warrior in the first place…to suit my own preferences.
Pally below level 35-40 is pretty boring. Its pretty much ret as your only option, activate SoC, attack with a slow ass 2h, wait for procs if any at all, rinse, repeat.
However, you get to 35, you respec to prot, and it gets sorta fun. You pull about 4-5 mobs at that level and kill them all with pretty much full life and mana. However, fight one mob, and it’s like you’re level 20 again.
I had a hunter main, he was epic’d out, and now i’m trying to do the same for pally, instead in all PVP gear (since raiding IMO sucks.)
I honestly swear all the kids that use to play alliance decided to go horde, because in PVP horde are fucking idiots. Or maybe its just my battlegroup, but i swear i have to guild preform (which ironically enough, i don’t have a guild to preform with ever since i went full PVP) For EoTS, every horde player except maybe…4 total goes for the flag…AND doesn’t even get it 80% of the time.
It’s some lame ass shit. Also that forum Tiger posted earlier…it seems like thats more PVE mechanics than PVP for like 85% of the threads i have read.
well if we’re talking PVE:
thing is with a mage even though you are standing back most of the time it is still more engaging than a warrior or pally. Why? Because you actually have to input every single attack you do as a mage and time things properly. With a pally or warrior you simply watch a fight happen, timing doesn’t really matter and now and then you hit a special attack…but more than half of the fight is auto-attack, which is passive…detached…yawn
now if we’re talking PVP:
all the classes are just as engaging, but mage is much more offensive than a pally…if you’re doing group pvp, you’ll find the pally is standing in the back healing trying not to get hit…and the mage is running in and out of skirmishes throwing out AOE and nuking the crap out of people, much more engaging play style, just depends what you want.
if you want melee, go for warrior or even a rogue…but be careful with a paladin they really aren’t what most people expect at first
LOL time things properly in raiding? In raiding, mages spam a move to do DPS, and warriors/whatever tank have to make sure they spam their threat generation moves. White damage isn’t that only thing that causes threat with a warrior, if that were the case, no group would ever succeed in raiding.
I started a blood elf pally as soon as my trial was over. I know it’s not the best class, but it will be a fun side project. I love the way they look. My pally has spikey white/blonde hair and is named KAKKAROT…RECOGNIZE FOO.
The pangs to come back to WoW have returned, but I’d have to re-level a character…and with no account. I dunno, maybe I should find someone in RL or on here that has a blank or throw-away acc I could buy off of them.

Wish I could. I had recently xferred servers before quitting, and thus only knew the people I moved with. They’ve all since quit.

And all of them are Blood Elf pallies or hunters… sigh.
I’m kinda getting bored of the ppl on my server, the 2 top guilds are ages above me and the rest are just a bunch of unfocused runarounds; I would xfer but I doubt many ppl would have use for a “Kara ready” tank now that ZA is out and most ppl with raiding interests are already doing 25mans. :sad:
